+++ OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Sunderland 12th April 2026 +++

Home wins
And for us they are rarer than anything
i was at last season's home game v forest, our defence was a shambles, and we were 2-0 down before we got a goal back

this season, our away form was ok in the beginning, but then that faded away as injuries started to pile up, and massively when we lost Kudus

we need to stop goals going in, everyone has to work to stop that

TBF Today they didn’t muster many chances against us but they did have a shot from distance which we haven’t really done all season

Yeah, look, I’m not angry at the manager. He’s just in the door. Just thought the performance not only lost us 3 points but there wasn’t much to hang your hat on.

The board have had one last roll of the dice. The only lever available to them. This is now us until the end of the season and, based on today, you’d say they may have left it too late.

We were in the game. Lost to a deflection.

The issue since the very first game is our attack. Frank made a fist of it, but ran out of ammo. Kudus out and selling Johnson without a replacement were the final nails in the coffin.

Where are the goals coming from? We need luck to score these days. At least under Frank we were seeing Xavi starting to run games and we had some patterns in attack.

Kulu, Madders, Odobert, Kudus all MIA. Where are the goals going to come from?

That’s the point though. Aside from the first 5 minutes we created close to nothing. We need to win games, not draw games. The best we’d have gotten from today was a draw really.

Unless we can start creating more, and a lot more, we’re fudged.

There was signs today that if he was given, say the 4 games those clams in charge gave Tudor, we could have been ok
I thought his first 11 selection was poor today. 3 players, Muani, Richy and Bergvall are not starters for me. Richy could start but only in the middle. What worries me is that he might need to forego his preferred 4231 in some games and he won't do that even if he doesn't have the right players for it. I mean how did Muani stay on for a full 90 minutes and why did he take off Gray, our best player in recent games? Early days but he has to stem the tide fast.

How do you get fluidity and confidence into a patched up side? The challenge has been the same since Frank and no surprises no one else has managed to to instil confidence. We don’t have time to play ourselves into form either. Cup final matches now

And this is where I don’t see the optimism, I get that it’s all we really have, hope, but people think we can not win a game all year, and then suddenly win 4 out of 6?

Even just the idea that at some point it HAS to change on the law of averages… it still requires someone to score goals, and I just don’t see us doing that.

Any team who creates 4 chances and coverts none is susceptible to concerning.

Creating more for me isn't the issue, it's covering what we create. It would immediately instill belief and confidence.

We just miss chance after chance knowing we're not good enough to be keep clean sheets. As a defence, it's soul destroying.

We simply have to score and score early

That’s what the club are gambling RdZ can do I guess. They’ve dealt him a really bricky hand. Be interesting to see if he can play it.

Personally I’d start Xavi all day as we have no one else to create. The only place he fits in that system is where Bergvall was playing.

Conceding an unlucky deflected goal isn’t the issue. It’s not scoring or controlling the game that is the problem.

Agreed on Xavi. Needs to be our starting number 10. He's not been great but he's still better than other options in there.

That's the issue, we could have been 4 games ahead of his learning curve for the run in.

Some of these things are only picked up in games.

Yeah agreed. We've not given him enough time. Hopefully he'll have learnt a lot from today. He is a really good coach. But it does show that TF was maybe not as bad as some have made him out to be.

He was decent in the first half I thought. He's not the main issue though, when you have RKM playing you are already down to 10 men I'm afraid. I don't understand the Gray sub as the team now have no passers left so the strikers are cut off against a very strong Sunderland defence. I can't understand why he didn't put Richy in the middle alongside Solanke at any point. I don't think it was a great performance from RDZ albeit with not a huge number of options.
I agree I thought the subs were poor!

It's quite baffling that a team fighting relegation expect themselves to be able to dribble every goal into the net, or be able to pinpoint crosses right onto the abscent striker's foot or face. I miss having players who dares to shoot from outside the box (and have a remote chance of hitting the target).
