Interim manager thread 2.0

He chose to play Greenwood - that's enough for me
If Greenwood had not been convicted of a crime, and he improved the team, surely that was the RIGHT thing to do?
Not playing someone who has been accused of a crime is hardly fair. You are innocent until proven guilty.

You couldn't make it up could you. Getting slaughtered for a picking a player who is at your disposal. I Sometimes think we deserve to be relegated with the thinking of some supporters.

Do you remember how close was to getting sacked until Harry Kane scored a jammy free kick and hope much he was under pressure 10 games in at Chelsea. His system takes time to implement.
I agree that the start of next season there maybe a bit of a slow start - that's predictable

But for these 7 games what we really need is someone to give all the players a big hug and whisper whatever it takes to restore a bit of belief that they can pass and play with verve again. For that, no one even comes close. Its also the only thing that would completely rally the fans

United managers didn't play him. For all i hate about that club, they handled it with some moral courage (in complete contrast to Arsenal with Partey)

Yeah its bizarre. Marseille own the player, they will expect De Zerbi to play him. All the evangalists on this forum...if their work colleague was accussed of beating up their girlfriend then the CPS dropped all charges, if they said to their boss "I am refusing to work with this person" what would they expect the reaction to be?

It’s despicable what greenwood did but the fact that he was found not guilty and his accuser happily took the money to keep quiet about it it’s all a little disgusting. However, she’s happily moved on and so should society. It’s all tasteless. But to point the finger at De Zerbi is so narrow minded and short sighted.

I'm guessing because that was at the start of the incident and also guessing it would've been a club decision rather than manager.

Surely it's upto the associations and clubs to decide if a player is eligible to play. Don't think its down to the manager to be judge and jury.

Seems like someone has come up with this opinion of De Zerbi and the rest have jumped on the band wagon.

He wasn’t found not guilty, he wasn’t even tried. And we don’t know she was paid off. For me, what Greenwood said on that tape was despicable but, as far as we know, he did nothing illegal.

Name them. Allardyce? Southgate? The Hitler guy?

Allardyce, no, too long out of the game.

Southgate, wouldn’t be my choice but he has managerial experience in big tournaments and at club level - and has managed whereas Davies never has.

Huttler, again, wouldn’t be my choice because he is a massive risk coming from outside the league and I’ve no idea what he would bring to a premier league relegation scrap.

Dyche, would I want him full time? No. Does he have more experience, managerial expertise etc than Ben Davies (our back up LB) yes.

De Zerbi, not a fan of the person, but a proven manager (who I wouldn’t really want).

Either way, as much as none of the above fill me with joy (and there are others) they re all much more equipped than Ben Davies for this situation.

Rally the fans has nothing to do with it otherwise we would have got a performance against Forest.

This huggy stuff that you talk about is not just going to make these yellow bellies start playing after two seasons of the same PPP (tinkle poor performance).

I know that you blindly want Poch to cone but why tarnish his reputation further with a relegation note next to his name.

It’s got to be a manager that is brave enough to kick these players into shape and drop players that are not contributing more than 110%.

Would you accept a rapist coming into your workplace? Being left alone with your female friends and colleagues? And all football clubs have female physios and nutritionists in the dressing rooms these days. Would you take that risk?

Give him a 7 year contract and get him to do what Burkinshaw did from 1976.

Disciplinarians don't work with Gen Z players. It's what killed Mourinho.

You also can't bin players when there's literally no alternatives to take their places.
