Massively agreed. The fans need to keep it up in defiance. Because if they don’t do it, the players certainly aren’t going to hit a good performance level. But even if they do and still get nothing from the players, as fans we need to be defiant because we and this club will be here after these owners and these players are gone.

With all due respect there was the biggest call to arms today ive ever seen, everyone showed up and the fans went above and beyond

We lost 3 nil

We should have done it way earlier than this

For all my shade the fans have shown up, the players havent

Yeah I thought we played a good first half and got sucker punched. And whether the subs just confused the players I don’t know. VDV didn’t look fit to me, felt he was beaten for pace a couple of times when we never usually would be and so I get why it was changed.

There was a moment just before their second where we had the ball, looked like we were shaping up in a back three system, but we just had nothing. There was no outball, no movement, no attempt to make something happen. It was that moment where I thought we were done. And the two mins later MGW has the space in the box to tap home despite us having about 6 players around him.

And from then on it wasn’t a game anymore. We had nothing. You could see the confidence was shot. It wasn’t a lack of effort, but we were just no longer a team. And that’s what’s so sad about it. I genuinely don’t know how you change this. We’ve had the fans creating a great atmosphere. We have a manager getting them fitter. We have the players seemingly realising that situation cannot go on. And yet we lose 3-0. What can we do in that situation? Is anger going to make them work harder?

Agreed, but that’s exactly my point. I don’t know how, with the support the players got today, how we lost 3-0 in a game that important. I think it shows that the situation with this squad is incredibly serious and beyond being solved with one solution or another.

So I think as fans we have only one choice. To keep this level up because it’s the only way the players will react well - negativity and anxiousness will achieve nothing. But even if we dont get that reaction, to show that we are massive, to show that we will be back, and to show that we will be here long after the people responsible for this situation are gone. Almost as therapy for ourselves. We need to be defiant.

The fitness thing was a nonsense. Almost every manager says it when they take over a club.

It’s primarily a quality issue, with a fair dollop of weak mentality chucked in for good measure.

You’re right but there will be rounds of podcasts. The media will be on it non-stop. There’ll be Cundy and O’Hara being strangely entertaining. It’s like being on a night out and after 6 pints, someone says “tequila?”

In hindsight, when I need 3 days to recover, that tequila (and the 6 after it) is always, always a fudging terrible decision. But I do it every single fudging time.

So it will be with the doomsday podcasts and media coverage. I can’t help myself.

It is Porro though.

That said, he isn't full back. In a 4 he's a square peg in a round hole. Three CBs is supposed to mitigate against FBs being an attacking outlet.
Personally, aside from Brazil, I've never seen it work. It's a tactic that works when you have the best players, but not beneath that
