Not sure I totally agree with this. Not against a price cap but I don’t see why it shouldn’t increase for 12 years when home tickets do.

Especially when it is virtually a closed shop and many of us have no chance of getting an away ticket at that price.
I would suggest a fairer system would be limit individuals to 10 sucessful applications for an away ticket , that is just over 50% of away games then others lower down the ticketing points table would at least have a better chance of getting a ticket fo some games.

Sorry to say but I totally disagree. Speaking as someone who has put in the hard yards to build up the points needed to get me a chance at away games - why should someone who doesn’t go to all the home cup games, for example, get a shot at an away game just because I’ve already been to 10?
There’s definitely work to be done to stop the selling/passing on of away tickets but allocating by loyalty points is the right way imo.

Edit : it’s not a closed shop. It just takes effort (and time and money) to get up the points table.

That's a totally different conversation.

Take what you can get. Other costs of your away day would have gone up.

Plus it's also a counter to home tickets rinsing you

Where were all these people on Wednesday night when we had 13,000 empty seats?

I don't know , I was there to earn my 3 loyalty points and I am still around about 15,000th on the ticketing points table, perhaps if they offered 10 points for each CL match they might have got nearer 60,000 in.

It doesn't bother me that much as I have no interest in away matches but for those that are it is very difficult to climb the points table even if you go to all the available home cup matches, if those on the highest points also go to all home cup games how is it possible to get above them in the table?

The 5 year rolling points cull helps. The more games attended - cup and away - the more points get lost.
Are you on the auto cup scheme? That’s an extra 10 points.
It also helps if you can get to the odd European away game (if we qualify) as they are usually 5 points but I understand it’s not that easy for a lot of people.
All I know is that until a few years ago I didn’t go to any away games, now I get most PL apart from the likes of Bournemouth and Brentford, and I’m usually close/getting offered returns for some of the tighter London derbies like the goons, Palace and Fulham. I usually get all away Carabao/FA cup games, as they have bigger allocations, except the likes of Tamworth, and a few Europeans depending on capacity or dead rubbers or perceived dodgy places (eg Galatasary, which was probably the place with the least interaction with home fans I’ve come across).
So it can be done.

It is incredibly frustrating though to hear people at away games talking about getting tickets off a mate or from someone on twitter/facebook.
At Palace away this season there was a family of 4 Americans who I heard saying it was their first Spurs game. Now they might have got tickets through one of our sponsors but I didn’t get the impression that was the case.

A couple of seasons back I was talking to a guy from Canada at a home game. He was studying over here, and told me he went to more away games than home games, courtesy of Stubhub.

I believe the club are trying to fix this but it’s very annoying.

Whatever the club/league/whoever put in place, people will find a way to game it.

I think the current set up is the best you can probably get, the only thing i think needs to be done is clamping down on resellers that buy to sell on to randoms via online sites - that should be easy enough to do. Going after people who get the odd ticket for a friend shouldn't be a path that the club takes.

I would make it so that some (unglamorous) games earn points and others (the biggies) cost points. Those who apply for tickets but are unsuccessful could perhaps also get at least some loyalty points for applying.
