Can't see anything other than a humiliating defeat. Atletico are light years ahead of us. They're a really, really good team, with top top individual players.
We're absolutely none of that.

Just a casual step towards our next European trophy. 3-0. Xavi, Solanke, Muani....BTW, those light beams which seem to be coming from the arses of those unicorns up there are really bright, and christ, there's a beanstalk in the corner of the living room...gotta go, must climb it...

Torn on this. On the one hand the only thing that really matters is the PL and the last thing we need are more injuries to important players. On the other hand even a modicum of a positive experience would be good. And a chance to get another game trying to play however Tudor wants us to play into the players that will be trusted for the PL. A game in different circumstances and with a different pressure may do them good.

Some big decisions coming up for Tudor. And if it's another couple of losses in this and against Liverpool his short term contract may be looking shorter by the minute.

I wonder if we might do another Dortmund or Frankfurt against them. I.e. how poor Gallagher is is a marker of how much other leagues can't cope with the Rollerball that the EPL has become this season

We play better away this season so I'm looking for a good display with a decent result. Our squad looks not built for the physicality of the PL but does well in the European type of play

What I'm gonna hang onto is the difference between La Liga and the PL for this one. A La Liga match fit Gallagher turns up at Spurs and has been 2 yards off the PL pace for 10 games. So have a feeling AM will be technically better and more organised than us but we need to use the PL intensity to our advantage. That is, if the players can be bothered to play at PL intensity.

As we've seen with other CL games this season, the weekly grind of playing in the PL can have some subtle advantages.

Radu and Djed trained this morning according to Football London, by my reckoning we have 14 fit outfield players not including any youngsters, about time Simons turned up and showed why we shelled out so much for him.

I'm torn between wanting us to lose (😱) to conserve energy for the very important PL run in, or wanting a good result to boost team morale for the PL run in.

Most importantly I hope we manage to avoid injuries.

With that in mind it'll be a hard fought 2-1 win, with multiple injuries and a fatigued squad.

You conserve more energy when you win. Football isn't physical when you have the ball and spend the game stroking it around. Only mugs and lower quality players have to put the yards in as they chase shadows. As long as you can do a quick high press to win it back, you need more energy to lose than to win.
