ENIC

Right people, right place , right time is so true.

Let's not forget Emery was at PSG with untold riches at his disposal and this happened.

In the first knockout round they defeated Barcelona 4–0 at the Parc des Princes, only to historically lose 6–1 in Spain and subsequently be eliminated

He then left PSG with still a year of his contract left and has now found the right place and time at the moment with Villa.

Any manager is only as good as his players. Villa hoovered up a lot of the best attainable players - many were linked with us - and they reaped the benefits. Emery is a good manager but like anyone has his weaknesses. To give up such a lead must have been terminal.

If we’d appointed Emery and he’d had to work without our first choice attack and our weak midfield, I don’t think he would be fairing much better right now. It takes time to develop a side especially when there aren’t strong foundations.

But I like how Frank has brought on two 20 year old players - Tel and Odobert. If there’s one feather in his cap maybe this is it.

Just goes to show how it’s got to be the right manager at the right time for that lightning in a bottle moment; like when I was a kid and the Villa fans got to watch their team pick up the European Cup or Everton winning the First Division a couple of years later, back when Liverpool were utterly dominant.

We seemingly struck gold with Pochettino and that talented group a decade ago but unfortunately it coincided with our stadium move so the squad got stale and we’ve gone through almost as many managers as Poch has had jobs since the CL final.

ENIC allowed Levy to chop and change before deciding that he too needs replacing but the negative spiral continues and none of our big money signings have proved to be the game changers they expected. Hopefully one of the youngsters can fill that void left by Kane & Son 🤞

"The club needs to spend more money."

"Let's blockade the places where the club can make more money".

The blockade of the shop has and always will be a cnut move because peopel take their kids and they want to go as par for the visit.

I would say if they are serious then take a game off and show the stands empty, I think that will impact greater than just screaming outside then saying "ohhhh I can't miss the game" hardly shows conviction

It’s an interesting sign of the times, isn’t it. You could write an thesis on how the “supporter” has evolved, and how that evolution reflects wider societal change and the influence of social media. It feels as though clubs now have boos from the stands and “owner out” protests as standard.

And yet, what people want is a stadium with almost away-like support: fans who sing and get behind the club, come rain or shine. Despite growing entitlement and a tendency to place winning above participation or belonging, what I think many fans, and society more broadly are really missing is that togetherness and community. People are isolated scrolling smart phones, getting their knickers in a twist about owners, and they've forgotton how to be present with others creating the atmosphere in unison.

this lot do come over as being the Reform of the football supporting world don't they?

All that being said, when you actually look at some of the bits listed in there, there's a few parts which are actually pretty relevant.

Season ticket prices for what has now been 5 years (Mourinho, Conte, Ange for all but 10 games) and now Frank) of very average football is a fair argument.

The direction of travel of the squad in terms of quality and depth is another - why on earth did we sell Johnson and then not go straight out and get one of the wide forwards we have on the list.

Is Paratici staying, or going? The media will tell you he's going, but honestly that's the media and they are largely in the dark too a lot of the time.

Then there's the comms with the club.

For the last 20 years when I have needed to get something resolved on this board, I have been able to speak with Donna Cullen, by email or even by phone, and for all of the rights and wrongs of the previous regime, if you weren't a controversial nut job the club would speak to you. I spoke with Levy, Martin Jol, and even Frank Arnesen once back in the day. Since he took on the job, at Donna's suggestion, I reached out to Vinai. So far three emails in, I've had nothing back.

When you then consider that the manager is daft enough to walk around carrying a Gooner cup while telling everyone he's not enjoying it, we're in a bit of freaking mess.

It a bit weird bringing up the injuries - this is a wider issue with the amount of football that is being played and is not directly the ownership of the club's fault, but all of the rest is pretty on point - it just they don't approach it constructively but aim to disrupt.

It would be rather ironic if, after all their 'Levy Out' hue and cry, CFT having apparently got their wish, it turned out that the reason he got the boot was because the higher-ups thought he'd 'gone native'.

Everyone has their opinions, my perspective (and I've been told Levy was my guy)

- Spurs was a life project for Levy, he cared, and he cared beyond the dollar value
- His biggest issue (think most people would agree) was he'd push to keep the club at a minimum bar (the ruthless firing) but wouldn't push/risk financially (excuse it as long term/game thinking) to take the last step
- The plan was always to increase commercial revenue -> increase squad spending -> should translate into on field success
- Ange was given more money than any previous Spurs manager (Conte got a decent investment as well)
- He also gatekept quite a few offers for sale (kind of funny as he was usually accused of waiting for the quick flip)

Based on the very short term "post Levy" era

- There hasn't been any freeing up of money/investment, nor any rush to do quicker/earlier business
- Quite a real possibility we will walk out of this Jan window with a profit (so we aren't even matching previous spend)
- No accountability for the poor performance, club is not responding to being in bottom half of league table for 2nd year running.
- A bit of noise that the club is actually for sale

So it may fudging hilariously be that the guy fighting for the club was the guy everyone thought was at fault the whole time ..

Or it maybe not ..

I think the Levy Back Now will be gathering force very soon

We look completely and utterly rudderless without him. May not be the case, but that’s how it feels and looks at this moment in time.
