I worded it wrong - it's not a seasonal average (taking the final position of each season) but a cumulative of points from all games played.

There's always mitigating circumstances that need to be accounted for - the overall picture though that is we haven't been very good for a long while

Why are you referencing Poch years when discussing the current squad of players? That's a lot of heavy lifting that Davies would be doing

I just picked 10 years as a reasonable time frame. The current squad of players have only been here this season.

Then it begs the question is it about the manager or the players? I'd say both. When both managers took over though neither squad was considered to have some of the best players in the world in them.

At the end of the day though it's a lot more complicated than we're crap now because we hired a manager from a "little team".

You'd have to ask Levy why he sacked him. If you read the contemporary news articles at the time, the players had stopped playing for him. That probably had something to do with it.

Is frank the right manager for us? Maybe not. But i've said i'll give him a season (as with any manager we get) then look at it. Unless we look like we'd get relegated.

We won't get relegated. The three at the bottom are so bad we could probably stay up with our current points.

Those were the days… we’ve gone frommost points in the PL over a 100 game period a decade ago toover the next century of games then down to 5th and now we’re propping up the top half of form table over past 2.6 seasons… hopefully we’re now past the nadir of our painful rebuild!

I did say at the time how stupid if was of our chairman to sack the manager. However there was a smallish but quite vocal minority on here that wanted him sacked. I suspect most of them now realise the folly of their thoughts.
