Trump unsurprisingly threatening to take away World Cup matches from Democrat led cities like Seattle and LA over "safety concerns". If they were to call him and ask for federal assistance (basically admit they're incompetent and let him send in the national guard), he will of course reconsider.

I think the fact Trump's power and influence is beginning to wan in the US Putin is scrambling now for what he can get.
There's no way he would agree. Giving away land that Russia doesn't occupy and restricting the size of the Ukraine army.
That's an invitation for Russia to rearm and invade again against a weakened Ukraine army.
