What would YOUR priority signing be in the Jan transfer window?

Not sure that is as appalling as taking quadruple the money and having an easy life

Then every player would be over in Saudi, there is a reason they ain't

As I say as few have taken the cash short term and then gone back to serious football.

Depends what you want I suppose, but there is 100% those that want to play in more competitive leagues

Age
Makes a huge difference IMO

I think it plays into the point, limited time left, things to prove to self if he wants it, we re a big club in our own right. Its not the "no chance because of money" that people are making it to be IMO
He probably wouldn't have gone over there in the place if he were that bothered tbh.

Of course he went for money, I don't dispute that, but there is logic in him taking what he has earned so far and coming back to serious football much richer. As I have said, others have done exactly that, so it offers the best of both, its also not like he will be poor collecting a PL salary

I guess we'll see but I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him stay put where he is as it feels like he would have taken everything into account when he made the move, but like you say things change so maybe it works in our favour.

I definitely can see the reasoning behind a Semenyo type signing and think he would be excellent.
Semenyo was absolutely amazingly unstoppable against us. I see that he missed a pen today and had the least touches and lost his duels today, so that is rather strange.

My dream would be a Wharton type deep playmaker though. Think he/someone like that would not only be really good, but mean that we got more out of the players already here than a Semenyo type.
Feels like Caicedo was going to be the next big star, so Cheatski ponied up full price for him and now he is the best.
Feels like someone like LIV will pony up full price for Wharton and he will be the best. We won't.

Might be a good time to buy Wharton, as Liverpool have spunked their load, and Arsenal, Chelsea, and City haven't got a hole for him.

Kinsky, Davies or Solanke could all be left out if the right situation arose.

But it is a really bad situation that we already have 6 good players (Takai, Dragusin, Bissouma, Maddison, Kulusevski and Tel) we can't name
We did all this to death before the season started. The priority when we are making signings shouldn't be what will happen to our champions league squad. It should be does the player improve our premier league squad.

And we ain't winning the CL, so its not a priority for them to have to be able to play in it, we should, like you say concentrate on players that improve us for the next 4/5 years and are logical, which is something we have failed to do for years.
