The interesting thing for me is the Forest forum. They were bemoaning his press conference on Friday, how he made it all about him, how he kept going on about his past achievements and not talking about the job in hand.

"Totally unconsidered comments- he doesn't seem to think about who his 'audience' for these pressers are- he just wants to argue with the 'journalists' in front of him.

- Ange, mate, you are no longer the manager of Tottenham Hotspuds, you are not going to change anyone's mind by harping on about your (at best) mediocre record in the EPL, you have a fanbase here who will back you to the hilt if you throw them a few bones and win us a few matches. Use the presser to build a sense of purpose and unity for Christ's sake and get us roaring at Chelsea.

It's almost as if he's inviting tomorrow's crowd to turn on him at the first opportunity"

Sums up about 20 pages of reaction to how he was conducting himself.

Had a look in there myself, where they were also bemoaning the inability to defend set pieces since he arrived; the evident confusion of players who didn’t seem to know their roles; the playing of square pegs in round holes; and the lack of tactical nous.

Sounds familiar.

Quite a few of them now looking at Tottenham supporters through a different lense. From the outside his a likeable no nonsense talking bloke, when it's your own team some people see it differently.

Exactly. It's all about him. Taking the Nottingham Forest job didn't seem to be about Ange helping out Forest, he made it about proving a point about himself. And when the pressure is on, he picks fights constantly. Whether its with journalists or even his own fans.

when you see the same mistakes over and over again, with even the most basic of fixes being ignored it is infuriating

when you only see it as an opponent twice a season its easy to ignore

The same guy said this on October 1st FFS.

"This is what comes with trying to get to the top. You're always going to have blips, but when we get that first win we'll be unstoppable."

"The way to the top isn't always beautiful and it's not always glory. You've seen in the past month and a half here, we've had a change of manager," says the England international.

"There's been a lot that's happened within the club. We haven't got a win yet, so it's not all rise and glory. We've been through the relegation times and we had a great season last season and we're in Europe now.

"The manager has taken well to the group we've taken well to him. We believe in him and his ideas. He's well respected within the group and I think you can see how we're playing out there.

"It's obviously been a difficult moment, a difficult time. But when we get that first win we'll be fine."

Let's be honest, ol' MGW hasn't exactly shown himself to have a particularly strong backbone when it comes to opinion-giving!

Can imagine Marinakis trying to strong arm Roy Keane into declining a move to a bigger club 😅

This isn't directed to anyone in this thread in particular, but I really cannot understand how people just take everything at face value. The world is so lazy -- I feel that's been a theme of Ange's time in the Premier League. Extreme laziness in punditry, in analysis, in everything. Listen to the narrative, and repeat.

I didn't know Gibbs-White had said that about Ange on October 1. But I thought there was probably a decent chance he'd said something, so I took these 3 incredibly difficult steps:
