Peter Charrington - New Chairman

He's now Non-Executive Director - so that means he remains more of a background figure? (I mean background in terms of visibility, not in terms of influence, obviously). With Vinai now being our face of the club?
That's right he will be in the background not even an actual employee according to a google search and as you say Vinae the man making all the decisions now with financial advice from Collecott.

Non-executive directors (NEDs) are not employees of the company; they are independent advisors and supervisors who provide strategic advice and oversight to the board rather than being involved in the day-to-day operations

This is the interesting piece

"He is also a senior partner at Nexus Luxury, a company that runs the Albany resort in the Bahamas. That resort is co-owned by Tavistock Group, which is former ENIC majority owner Joe Lewis’ investment portfolio."

I'm guessing he is well known face to our owners.

Could it be that Peter is also a Spurs fan?
It might be complete coincidence, but Mitchell & Butler (Tavistock's pub company) bought out Charrington Brewery from the Charrington family. So Peter might be a nepo-baby from that merger?

Yep, Charrington probably has a charter bigger than just running the club would be my gut feeling.

And yet he is still the chairman, which means all the executives are subservient to him. In practice, he won't be involved in operational issues but his antennae should be twitching if things start to go wrong.

Have to see if he turns up for games in person or does he operate from The Bahamas and have video meetings with the other board members . As CEO Vinae will be running the club day to day expect we will see more of him than Charrington.

Hope Charrington has time for us , list of his appointments from The Standard.

Additionally, Charrington is a senior advisor to One Equity Partners and is a board member at engineering companies Amey and Acteon, wealth management group Avaloq AG, investment group Saranac Partners. He is also a senior advisor to UST Global, a digital technology company.

That’s the thing with Non Execs - they tend to have several of those roles.

Sounds like he needs to get a life and buy some golf clubs :)

Not worked much with Citi group I see, traditional banking has no claim to be well run or strategic thinking.

Can't wait to be explained how he is a football guy and Levy wasn't
Well in fairness he’s not running the show, Vinai is, and Vinai has football credibility from his time at Woolwich and general sporting pedigree from his time with British Athletics, although I don’t know exactly what that involved.
But I still think it’s all geared towards either a sale or a significant third party investment. Charrington’s long experience in Wealth Management would make him ideally placed to find investors and the appointment last year of Jonathan Turner as an NED with an investment banking background speaks to a possible sale (although I guess most NEDs have IB or IM experience).
I think there is more to come, which could be good for us but equally makes me nervous.
And regardless makes me think Levy has been treated badly.
