Pretty sure fans of all teams get tinkled off if they hugely underachieve.
Especially when the manager is a deflecting trumper :)

Has he ever admitted his tactics of "play it in neat triangles near the touchline, basically forever" might not work?

I don't think he is wrong with that point if its true.

The YT and Bluetick culture of calling players sh1t after a month, the Dier into the crowd moment, Sanchez and Johnson coming off socials for a time. Our fanbase is full of overreactive and toxic cnuts. If they are par for the league I don't know, but the negativity in our ranks spills over as well into the playing ranks, of that I am absolutely certain.

What toxicity of the fanbase is he talking about?
I can't remember a manager having specific songs singing his praises getting renditions after TWO BLEEPING games!
IF TRUE sounds like someone already preparing their excuses in their interview for their next job.

He had it so relatively easy until he started shouting at that fan that apparently wanted his team to lose vs Emirates Marketing Project.
I think he made a lot of people amongst the fanbase and the boardroom start looking at him in a different light after that imo.

Things have gone steadily downward from there imo with certain key moments such as:

- The abject second half at Brighton and saying "he didn't make subs to try and change things round as he didn't want a hallow victory"
- The abject loss to Ipswich when if we'd won we'd have gone third, even above the likes of Arsenal
- The "don't you just want to be entertained?" quip after failing to hold the lead at the last minute vs Roma
- The abject game vs Tamworth
- confronting fans after games vs Leicester and Fulham
- having a long time to prepare for game vs Chelsea and looking so abject and ill-prepared

1) Plenty on here have said how toxic the atmosphere is at Spurs, and has been for quite some time - more so since the new stadium move. There has been an undercurrent of toxicity growing and growing

2) It's just some random Facebook account, really not worth you writing paragraphs about :D....

I don’t remember too much toxicity when we were finishing second in the league and making the final of the CL.

If it’s true (it looks like some random bloke posting?) it’s another massive attempt at deflection from the tripe his team have served up for over a year.

Mate, people were going in on Poch massively even by the CL final, this place was full of it at times, I remember specifically posting stuff from YT channels on here who were saying statistically the CL final was a fluke and he should go, that was before the following season.

Our fanbase despite having some lovely level people is also and has always been full of reactive divs.......people wanted Son gone before he kicked on, used to get dogs abuse in his first season at the Lane.

We can argue if Ange is using it as a deflection, he likely it, but we have some arses in the ranks

It's both

- We have brickheads and our fanbase is very easily trolled/clickbaited
- That said, you can't literally been on track for the worse PL season ever by the club, and the worse loss ratio in any season ever (including seasons we were relegated) and palm it off as "club issues"

And the last point is where I get fudging wound up, all the "club issues" we seem to have has kept us in the top 6 for all but 2 of the last 17 fudging years, this guy comes along and has us in bottom 5 and it's "the club"? wtf ?

I said in the other thread, I've just spent 10 days in Argentina. The players should experience other football cultures and then they'd appreciate how good they have it.

I've watched football around the world and English fans are the most docile of the lot.

No I agree with that, but I have literally seen fans fighting in the stands during some pretty decent periods under Poch because of a difference of opinion on a player, Janssen I think it was when someone had a proper tear up with someone hahaha.

But I do agree with you

Yeh I don't disagree having spent time in Italy, but everyone is adaptive to their environment, our fans lead the way when it comes to online trolling and faceless abuse, as Sanchez found out.

Other people being bigger clams isn't really a defense.

Online is online, my issue typically has been the change of in ground atmosphere over the years, and not to rathole/beat the dead horse, it has nothing to do with tourists or ticket prices, it's just the general entitlement of people has got out of hand

Dont know what you are talking about...

With 6 games to go Postecoglou has already lost as many PL matches as Pochettino did during the entirety of his first 4 seasons!

2014-18: Won 87 Drawn 36 Lost 29 For 287 Against 150 PPG 1.95

2023-25: Won 31 Drawn 10 Lost 29 For 134 Against 110 PPG 1.47

Conveniently leaves out the 17 matches we lost in Poch's last 50 games, the last 24 being W6D7L11

It's not entitlement though is it. Football is now a product and we're the customers and consumers. When you treat people as such and price things in that way then if people don't think they're getting value for money they'll complain.

The lower league teams don't have these issues as then fans are integral to the survival of the club and are treated as such.

If I have to have 4 different tv subscriptions a membership and a season ticket to watch my team. A shirt is £90 and cold chicken and chips is £12, im in my rights to expect a certain quality of product.

There used to be a cheeky couple month window after the season ticket ended, now they want me to sign up before the end of the season.

All of that is true, and everyone should vote with their wallet and make their voice heard in anyway they see fit.

I don't see the value of going to a game (and putting out all that money, plus time) to be fudging miserable, to not get behind the team, to not be part of the experience, you are literally making no statement against the club (because you are still paying) and making the match day experience brick for others ...

The only piece I disagree with is lower league fans know there isn't any "holy grail", so they enjoy the game they are at, not worrying about if they win anything at end of season. Honestly the same fans at WHL 15+ years ago when getting to Europe in and of itself was an achievement behaved very differently for an often worse team (this season exception of course)

So have I. Brazil, Argentina, all over Europe...in South America, I find the levels of noise/abuse are much more 'general' and aimed at everyone/everything. Here, we specialise in targeted, sustained, and personal abuse of specific targetted people as well as general stuff (which I agree is not as consistent as in those places).
