Lucas Bergvall

Head and shoulders above the other "professionals" on the pitch.
He knows when to swerve, when to check, how to pass, how hard, which foot to pass to, whether someone is open, when to dribble, he knows football and it really exposes how many of our other players don't understand football e.g. Son tonight who was lauded by the commentators but clearly didn't understand how to pass and move and integrate with his teammates, which I'm glad to see was noticed and commented on in the match thread.

Even the few times he is forced to pass it backwards he does it in a progressive manner.

Both their goals were due to Bergvall! Yet he was one of the best players. Should have been taken off before 80min as he was shattered. He was a liability at the end and it took him sitting down to get the change. Should have been subbed 5-10 minutes earlier.

Strength, pace, agility, and huge determination. Decent shot as well. Hopefully he gets a new contract over the summer.

Sorry but that crazily harsh
He was the best player on the pitch last night and probably out best player last week
The OG happens. They just happen to any player
The goal last night was odd and IMO was part of a recurring issue around a lack of communication when defending (Ben Davies as soon as he was on took charge of everything)… but again, for me, it just happens

What is crazily harsh about it? He was one of the best of the pitch. He also caused both their goals.

The word caused is harsh for me
Even on a Footy pitch accidents happen
OGs happen
The clearance hitting a player tracking back (we rarely do that) can happen

It wasn’t him that caused the goals? There’s a difference between causing and blaming.

He gives so much and Ange does need to keep an eye out and sub him a bit earlier: that is the only criticism I have.

I don’t think the word cause is right for what are clearly accidental goals
If he did something wrong… then I’d agree
