*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Ipswich Town FC ***

It’s common assault
Someone said anywhere else that’s a free kick
I mean anywhere on the pitch that’s a foul regardless
It's frustrating because there are so many things that aren't actually fouls but this was text book. He purposely took out the player with no actual attempt at getting the ball. That's a foul, doesn't matter if it's in the penalty box. It's a foul.

Yes.
That is a clear penalty. The ball is 5 yards away, OShea has no intention of going near it, and floors Danso. Insane!

That was at 2-1 if they had gone on to equalise and get something from the game I would have blown a fuse.

Its still an outrageous decision not to be given a penalty, and at least we go on to win the game in spite of it

It did seem like that was going to be the only outcome and I would have been fuming too. Reminded me of the Saudi Sportswashing Machine game. Me and my pals were all saying "I still can't get how that's not a penalty how the f did VAR not give it" etc 10 minutes after.

Tbh even though we still won, I'd have still moaned about it if I were Spurs as they get away with it yet again when people should be held accountable for their errors. VAR is supposed to rule these things out and correct things, not make the decision worse than what it is.

I didn't see the match until pretty much our penalty incident, so I saw the last two goals. But 1-4 away from home you can't complain. I might watch the whole thing back at some point to see the flow of the game. Annoyingly I missed Spence's proper RB debut (after all this time. 😅).

I stick with the thought that this was probably a tougher match than the United one. I look at Ipswich despite being limited as a team as a group that will fight for their very lives and make things as difficult as possible. It's a challenge it's nice to see us come through, a bit like the Brentford match which I thought was a really tough game (& watch) but we managed to get the points.

Yeah, I was at Twickers watching us thrash the Scots !!!

Great day all round.

Gonna set the game up later and take a look. I read back through all the comments on here so may not be watching the 4-1 I want to see. I'm expecting to not enjoy the 41mins between their goal and our third goal.

THFC shouldn't leave it there. The best time to call out Howard Webb and PGMOL is when you win 4-1, not when you've lost because of their ineptitude. If I was the club, I would demand an apology from Webb publicly. Clubs just have to keep the pressure on PGMOL. They are clearly cheating by not using the laws of the game and it is terrible for the game.

We all need to keep the pressure on PGMOL until they right their ship.

😆

I don't think you'll enjoy the first 15 minutes either. Stick to the brief highlights. Ignorance is bliss!

It was a terrible decision but this ain’t it. Refereeing doesn’t improve by press releases. If it did, this season things would be much better because Liverpool, Arsenal and Forest all embarrassed themselves doing it last season.

Well I thought it had for a while. When AFC and LFC made their public votes of no confidence in PGMOL, that helped every other club. Whether they were doing it for the greater good of the game or just for selfish reasons didn't really matter. It put a massive spotlight on those clubs and Webb had to get himself out to the clubs. For a while, I thought we were seeing improvements, but it's gone back to where it was before.

What happens next will be an end of season statement of stats saying VAR only got things wrong X times. It will say that it is 30% better than last season and the panel of 5 have reviewed all incidences including an ex pro. It will the normal manipulation by PGMOL. I can promise you yesterday's mistake will not be included in the data, just like the hundreds of other incidences across a season.

We are being manipulated by PGMOL, and I would be threatening to pull their funding unless they get corrective action in place. I'd be more than happy to fire the lot and set up a new governance body to manager refereeing. It would have the right KPIs.

Getting into tinfoil hat territory mate. Refs make mistakes, they’re human and it’ll keep happening no matter how many clubs release statements to protest.

I have just watched the highlights on Motd and in many ways you could say we were lucky to win 4-1.... Ipswich had a great start and could easily have scored....

Johnsons second goal went through one pair of legs and under another. On a different day that gets blocked...

Without the deflection Spencss goal may not have gone in....

If Kulu's shot was half an inch to the left it may have bounced out.....

But I don't f...ing care.

We've had lots of bad luck this season but with players also coming back from injury, maybe good luck will return and carry us on to European glory.....

Come on you beautiful Spurs.

I never played or seen a game in which I couldn't say "if"

Kind of the point of the league table at the end of the season to give some balance. There were games earlier the season we really could and should have won, but some who wanted Ange gone said it was irrelevant and only the result matters. Of course when we win the same section will remind you that it could have been different if x/y or z had happened. Not double standards of course....

Just watched the game.
If sons challenge in the centre circle on 10 mins is a foul then that challenge on danso is a pen.
You can make mistakes but there is no excuse for a lack of consistency.

Johnson second is not a tap in, that's a fine finish.

Archie and Bergvall, that's why you watch football.

Spence is just phenomenal.
