Some interesting arguments...
He is overpriced
Of course he is! So was Alisson... but I have yet to see a single bin dipper up in arms saying that they should not have signed him because of that. Paying over the odds is part and parcel of being a top 4 club. We need to live with it and embrace the new reality! If there is one thing I trust Levy is not to overstretch the club. If he sanctions the buy, it means we can afford it.
He does not produce enough goals or assists
Seriously? I mean really... seriously? The guy had the likes of Benteke, Townsend, Gayle as the players to assist! Have you seen those players in action and assessed their movement off the ball or awareness of space? Abysmal! FFS, this guy has single singlehandedly kept his club in the Premiership. Who can we think of in the past decade who did such a feat? And above all, he reserved some of his best games against the top 4. That tells me he is more than capable of making a further step up if surrounded by quality players.
We could get better (I think you mean cheaper) abroad.
Probably but at what risk? Is paying a 10mill premium worthwhile to get a proven Premiership acclimatised player? And who are these 60 mill world class players who would jump at joining us and who possess similar attributes as Zaha?
We have Moura so don't need Zaha
That is the most incredulous comment of all IMO. I would take it that these posters have never seen Moura play. The Brazilian is completely different from Zaha with the only thing they have in common is pace. Lucas will never be able to take on two or three players like Zaha can; nor can he beat his man (or two) from a standing start; his strengths lie elsewhere, predominantly in transition...
Above all, including Moura will have little effect against our biggest problem... teams playing for a 0-0 with two tight banks of four. Zaha, on the other hand, ticks all the boxes and will - most importantly - provide a new option for us...

"Another route around the deep-lying defence is with a pacy dribbler to crack open the game. Beating one man and taking a piece off the chessboard can send a rearguard into chaos as they are forced to make quick adjustments. The lack of this profile of player is the one hole in an otherwise well-balanced, organised Tottenham collective."
