After an almost imperious start under Ange it all went mainly downhill again after that sending off vs Luton...something changed back in him after that and he went largely back to being as mediocre as he was under Conte. I do wonder if he was anotehr 'club signing' that Conte didn;t really want.
Not that this was an excuse for him. He really wasted his talent overall, though not helped by Ange's suicidal tactics at times.
Oh well, he'll be a sort of legend for Bilbao regardless

Not sure he was a club signing, all links suggested Conte wanted him, was a key player he wanted, but he turned up and wasn't proffessional and that relationship broke down quickly
