Your top 5 Spurs goals

Mulletperm

Mauricio Taricco
There are probably hundreds I've forgotten, but these truly stick out in my mind.

1. This goal started my love affair with Spurs after seeing it on Match of the Day.

2. The occasion. The genius that is Gascoigne.

3. I clearly remember watching this game and thinking he'd kicked the ball miles over the crossbar

4. Ghodly

5. I love this goal. One touch, brilliant team goal

Saw goal 4 live... standing in the Family enclosure at Vicarage road right in line with the trajectory of the ball as Hoddle chipped into the far corner... I bounced all around the family enclosure full of Watford fans safe in the knowledge that no one would lump me! I was 'baby sitting' a young Hornets fan for the day.... happy times!

4 was probably one of the best goals I've seen at white hart lane. I reckon Rebrovs curler against Saudi Sportswashing Machine outside of the boot was good too. I'll be back later on after I've had a thought.

Robbie Keane must be up there. Gazza too. Ginola. Alli? Will see.
Maybe we can have the following sections:

1) seen live (Understand some may not have though)
2) at whl
3) ever

It's a bit rich to come up with categories of seen live and whl... when your sentence above says you saw Hoddle's goal at Watford at WHL?

This would take me awhile to think about.

I think Crouch's goal at the San Siro would be in my top 5. I was there, at that end behind the goal and it was just amazing to win that game, brilliant from Lennon on the counter-attack.

Also, the Bale winner v West Ham, great goal and nothing better than a late winner in a derby game:

Edit: Kane winner v Arsenal

edit again:

Rose volley v Arsenal

So that's four...

final edit: number 5, Dele goal v Palace

Mostly goals from recent years, but that's probably a fair reflection of my time as a Spurs fan (1st live game in 1994) -- our best players have all been in the last few years! (since I've been supporting us anyway)

I will pick my top 5 from what they meant at the time... They are all great goals anyway...

1. Ricky Villa against Emirates Marketing Project... Marvellous and was there to watch it.

2. Ossie Ardiles against Man U at Old Trafford in an fa cup 3rd replay... Second year running we had drawn them at home and had to to them for the replay. We lost the first year, but down to ten men with hoddle in goal Ossie curled it into the top corner right in front of us... It meant so.much at the time.

3. Gazza, " is Gascoigne going to have a go ...he is you know".. FA cup semi final 1991 against the scum.

4. Johnathan Woodgate against Chelscum in the 2007 carling cup final... What a moment but I still couldn't cheer as was so nervous.. Went absolutely mad at the end though.

5. Any goal against the scum or Chelscum in which we have won the game.

COYS.

I'd have to give it a lot more thought to come up with a top 5, but off the top of my head Bale's volley at Stoke in 2010 was probably the best goal I've seen when I've actually been at a game. It was unreal. The only (slight) shame being that we were at the other end of the pitch. Still phenomenal though.

They may not be the most spectacular, but 5 of my favourites for varying reasons

1/ Ricky Villa v Emirates Marketing Project FA Cup Final For someone around my age, it couldn't be anything else
2/ Pavlyuchenko v Inter Milan at WHL Capped off one of the nights of my life at WHL
3/ Peter Crouch v City at the Etihad Nothing spectacular, just what it meant
4/ Pavlychenko in the rain last minute v Liverpool (2-1) The first time I think we had been at the Lane when we got a late winner against a big gun
5/ Bale v Sunderland last minute of the season. Just a stunning finish

Wow, so many goals over the last 50 years it would be hard to pick my favourite 5. This one back in 79 against Utd was one of them.

Was hoping someone would come up with that, would have to be in my top five too.

Would also include Gazza vs Arse in the 1991 FA Cup SF, Ricky Villa's winner in the FA Cup final vs City 1981 and Dele's goal vs Palace.

Which leaves room for one more out of these two:

Paul Stewart's dream goal in our 3-2 win vs Coventry 1990 when (acknowledgements to MEHSTG) 'he took the ball from a throw-in on his thigh, lifted it over his and an opponent's head, then hit a stunning volley from a narrow angle to beat the keeper'

and this bullet volley from Alan Mullery:

Can't whittle down to a top five but Gazza's free-kick is head and shoulders above any other goal for me.

'Schoolboy's own stuff'

Greaves' first ever goal for us, his astonishing swivel-cum-scissor-kick type goal on his debut vs Blackpool has got to be in there too. Remember being utterly gobsmacked at the time, asking myself could I have been dreaming? It was that unreal.

It was indeed, i was with my old man and he said and always believed that was the best goal he had ever seen. And my old man was a City supporter so he had no biais.

I count myself lucky to have seen his first and last goal ( and most in between), great player who always played with a smile on his face. I was gutted when we swapped him for Peters, at that time i was on a contract in Manchester and instead of traveling down to see our home game i went instead to Maine Road to see Jimmy make his debue for W.Ham, he did what he always did and scored two goals in a 5-1 win.

I just love the fact that today's youngsters have a goal scoring Spurs hero in Kane. Greavsie made me aware of the club, and Kane and Alli will perform a similar role for kids today. Brilliant!

5. Laurent Robert (2nd) in the 4-0 at St. James' Park, 13 December 2003
4. Laurent Robert (1st) in the 4-0 at St. James' Park, 13 December 2009
3. Obafemi Martins in the 3-2 at White Hart Lane, 14 January 2007
2. Peter Beardsley (2nd) in the 2-1 at White Hat Lane, 4 December 1993
1. Alan Shearer in the 2-0 at Old Trafford, FA Cup, 11 April 1999
