They don't sell out but it might be difficult for some to alter their stadium layouts e.g at QPR away fans get the upper tier behind the goal , not sure how many that holds but EFL require 2000 away tickets for away fans and in some areas of the country police might raise security objections to any increase on that figure.

It is a bit but we can sustain relegation based on that. The unknown is the covenants with the banks.
We would have a max exodus , eg. players like Solanke, Spence who want to make national squads won't do it playing in the Championship.
Solanke won't do it playing anywhere tbh. Guy is done at the top level. He would be one of the few who would probably get on okay with us in the Championship - more his level. But I think we could aim to find better.
Spot on about Spence and assume Solanke has made the recent England squad to make up the numbers for training and won't make the final match squad.

A year in the championship is survivable and probably wouldn’t have too disastrous a financial impact but 2 years, 3 years…. Not good at all. The article speaks about our long term debt at low rates but isn’t there some that will need to be renegotiated in the not too distant? (I might have that wrong but am sure I saw it somewhere).

If there are covenants (very likely there will be) then they would either have to be covered by a liquidity injection by the owners (could be in the form of loans) or player sales. Many are stretched way out into the future but from reading that it implies one is a 15 year term, so now we are in 2026 has 10 years to go (for reference some are out as far as 2051).
It's the interest rates we have locked in that will save our arse.
As long as there's no fly in the ointment from pesky covenants!??

Indeed. The transfer debt has built up over the years (not helped by the the lack of a flip side ie selling), and helped burn thru our cash pile.
There isn't a precedent for a club with our financial liabilities being relegated. We have a billion £ stadium which carries eyewatering maintenance costs and our revenue would be slashed. The FL PSR is harsher than the PL's and we would find it extremely difficult to comply. They were never written to accomodate a club with our infrastructure and financial structure. There's a good finance podcast that got into the impacts of us being relegated and actually one of the big impacts is on the football league itself, they felt they would really struggle to even administer a club like us in the championship.
We managed for 100+ years.....
