World Cup 2026: Mexico, USA and Canada

People always say England look average, and yet we always get to semis/finals - well at least under Southgate who according to some was utterly clueless so with a coach like Tuchel winning the World Cup should be a breeze

We always play better against the bigger teams who come onto us, and our play will look better against the likes of Brazil who will not have a low block. I'd be surprised if we didn't beat this Brazil side, even though our defence is not particularly convincing....

My only real criticism of Southgate was that he rarely took the handbrake off. We'd often go 1–0 up and then immediately try to shut up shop. The style of play was generally too cautious for my liking.

That said, you can't argue with his tournament record. He consistently got England deep into major competitions, and he deserves a lot of credit for that.

I think Tuchel is an upgrade on Southgate from a tactical perspective. Whether he can get us over the line and finally win a major tournament remains to be seen. Looking at the draw, though, I'd expect us to reach at least the semi-finals.

Mr 70th min Sub

Absolutely battered Italy first half of Euro final, they made a tactical change, he didn't counter it, they battered us and he waited till they scored to make a change. More of less the story of his reign in those games TBH.

Nice guy, did very well, lacked the cutting edge IMO.
