Will Lankshear

Maybe he has a loan lined up, There's no other reason not to play him. Dorrington didn't start and he's now linked with a loan to Aberdeen . It's a poor reason but only one I can think of, unless he actually just doesn't rate him.
He could have played today and still go loan tomorrow

Defies belief

I think we will look in a couple of years like we are at Spence, wondering why he was not played.

Lankshear has played a grand total of 9 minutes (8 mins at Southampton plus 1 at Fulham) since scoring at Galatasaray.

I wonder what lesson the gaffer is still waiting on him to learn from that sending off that he couldn’t even be trusted to play against a non-league club ahead of an out of form on loan winger?!

i think ange is trying to justfiy re-signing werner on loan - too bad for lankshear.

Shows how highly he's rated that top Championship sides want him, although it's more important that we make sure he gets plenty of starts wherever he goes.
Any Championship side will give him limited chances, and unless he hits the floor running, he won't get minutes. Better to go where he'll play, like you say. If that's Div 1/2, so be it, as performing well there will make him more likely to play minutes for a Championship team next season.

Sheffield United have a paper thin squad and he was in the academy there/knows the manager. That would be a great place for him to go for the rest of the season

It's what Delap did and it served him well, Louie Barry.

Yep, we've seen too many loanees go to the highest club possible and not play. The following season, they still haven't got the experience for a club of the same level to come sniffing, or if they do, same scenario of not playing. It's all about getting experience of mens football, doesn't matter what tier, only minutes matter.

It's why I'm so pleased with Donley and would loan him to the championship next season.

Exactly that, its not the level its the mental conditioning for me, the mindset of the games, the fan expectation, the travel, the hotels and the physicality of it all. Rather then play L1/L2 than play the odd game in the Cship

In a couple of years time Lankshear will be a man as opposed to still a boy. He will also (hopefully) have played a couple of years of mens football at a lower level somewhere. If in a couple of years anyone is wondering why he didn't play for us before then they should consider how much development he has done in those couple of years and then they'll probably stop wondering.

I would be loathe to let him go to a championship club doing well as they will likely just want him as cover. Much better for him to go somewhere he has a decent chance of starting a majority of games for.

Sheffield United have bid £7m for Leicester striker Tom Cannon (currently on loan at Stoke). They also have Tyrese Campbell, Kieffer Moore and Rhian Brewster already at the club. Lankshear is better off moving to a club where he has a chance of starting.
