Simons/Kudus showed enough to warrant keeping, and Porro is one of the first names on the teamsheet. The rest, if the price is right, no reason not to improve on them.

In the sense that that's our future. They were the players to build our next phase around. Those with ceilings. Not the N17th mob

TBH, you get ALOT of sh1te on here about your views on youth etc, TBH alot of it is contrary to what I think support should be, but thats another argument. We know things go on at clubs, views of manager, ambitions etc etc, but I don't think the way you have outlined he above is outrageous and there would have IMO too, been players that would have been first out the door to raise cash before some of them..........Sarr, Bentancur, Romero, Vicario, Richy or Solanke etc etc.

It is what it is, just saying, your view isn't as outrageous as some try and make out

As I keep saying, we will soon find out of its the right strat

Not sure how you got that but I’d say it would be impressive for a manager to make his mind up on a player he has never seen play or train really
And
We know Lange is responsible for the young players at the club
I mean that’s a fact

Personally never saw enough in him to suggest he would be better then Solanke, good finisher but is all round game isn't there yet (neither was Kane's at that age mind you). I think it is a good fee for what is basically a risk, he may turn out good but he may turn out like most other youngsters as mid championship/lower prem level. We also have no idea if he wanted play time which forced our hand etc etc... All in All, can't say i'm too bothered on this one for now.

Did you watch Oxford last year?
I did
They were bad and played poor football
He stood out
The football was so bad that a player like Donley either side of his injury struggled too
I don’t think we have anyone keeping an eye on loan players really
And the team who were right up there in that division are the ones who saw him and have decided to spend the money… funny that, a team who would have been watching him all season
We focus on overseas players imo

First of all I would not have put it passed RDZ having watched the clips of every game from Lankshear and Moore from last season.

The message appears to be clear that RDZ does not want squad filling young players. Your either ready for the first team or your going to be sold or loaned.
 
The academy exists to develop players. Very few of those players will ever make the first team. The vast majority of them will be loaned out and then sold, or straight-up released.

The club accepts this. The academy accepts this. Hell, the players accept this, which is why we get so many joining the academy - playing for Spurs is the absolute peak, and few ever reach it. Most are happy to be developed into solid professionals able to make a wealthy living from the sport.
And playing in the Prem, Europe or even the Championship/League One still gets you that.

Between the sales of the lad going to Man U, and Lankshear, if all the clauses are met, we will have made close to £30m on players who would at best have played a few games for us.

That money alone would cover the cost of running the academy for half a decade or more.

There's a small chance Lankshear ends up the next Kane. There's a greater chance he tops out at 'solid professional', much like Troy Parrott. But if all he does is hang around the first team without getting any significant minutes, he might not even get to that level.

You take all these factors into consideration and it's easy to see why we sold him. I honestly did not expect up to 20m, plus a sell-on percentage. And good luck to the lad.

And that may be the case but judging a player on a league you may not know as a manager isn’t the best way imo
What I do know is Lange is reasonable for the young players
And if so… he isn’t here for anything other than the short term even with a long term contract

Which is why I compared to Scarlett when Oxford were worse yet he had a better goals/minutes ratio. As I said, no guarantees and £20m is good money for that risk. Also being born in Ipswich I watched the championship a fair bit last season

It's a shame, cos I liked the look of him.

But I can understand why.
Rebuilding a team, so limited space for the youngsters just now.

Get the players in for now, that will be the base for a few years, then get youngsters coming through.
