Where's My Loyalty Points?

Season Ticket holders hardly get any points for renewing - the way in which they really gain points is by attending away games. Members get loyalty points for all games, and as a result it's a completely different kettle of fish.

It's right that people with Season Tickets get priority as they're paying in bulk and have done so for over five years now.
 
This is great news really. I was actually thinking this today. There needed to be a dropout after so many seasons before it got to a point when one person who'd had a membership for 10 year went to every game the first 5 years, then just sat on his loyalty points for the other 5!
 
All seems fair enough especially as I had to give up my season ticket then had a season off and only been a member again from this season. Hopefully I'll be able to go up the tree a bit and get a few away tickets next season.

Jeez how many games would you have had to be at to reach over 900 points as a ST holder seeing as you only get points for renewing, cup games and aways. Thats serious dedication.

Also shows that averaging it out over the last 4 years and current season will be benefical and a good system, wonder how many of those went years upon years ago and have sat on their loyalty points ever since.

I've been going for 20 years, no problem. I think it's a huge improvement. Essentially you'll still need to be an 'active' supporter. If it was on loyalty points over 1-2 seasons, yes, that'd be unfair. But theyre basing it on enough that you've shown loyalty over more years.

If it was going to continue as it was, you'd have the problem of every time a final come up, whoever had a large amount of loyalty points over a high amount of years would monopolise the system. Then you'd get into the situation like how people Liam their season tickets etc, people would be loaning out their memberships to keep the points on it and exploit every time their was something worth going to!
 
I applied for 2 tickets for QPR. I have over 725 LP's and my mate has over 359 LP's. Obviously I applied for 2 seats together, but the TO have sent me one for the upper tier and my mate one for the lower tier, based on the number of LP's we each have. I have never experienced this before and would have been quite happy sitting in the lower tier.
Has this happened to anyone else?
 
I've been a STH since the loyalty points system was introduced, whenever that was? At the end of the 2007-08 season I had 442 points which I will now lose. Therefore I will now drop down to 330 points.
 
Is it or is it not the truth? You're like a broken record when it comes to 'I only do big games' to say you weren't going to apply for semi tickets unless it was against Chelsea sums you up. No surprise atmospheres brick down the lane these days Tarquins and johnny come latelys

No it's not the truth - it encourages people to attend more regularly and visit the less important matches so that they can ensure a ticket for decent away matches. The very opposite of what you think it does! Think what you want mate, Chelsea will be the first 'big' game that I've attended this season anyway.

If you're implying I'm a johnny come lately, then you can do one as far as I'm concerned
 
That's exactly what I'm implying and deep down you know it's true. Just ask yourself since when you've been going regularly? You're always whinging how everything's unfair for you as regards getting tickets always bringing Up these supposed thousands and thousands of season ticket holders who apparently buy away tickets and don't actually use the tickets just for loyalty points? Then you say yourself in a thread some time ago if you had a season ticket you wouldn't go all the time just the big games? Nah not a johnny come lately at all lol if you wanna settle this over a pint can meet at the game tomorrow? Or Monday in the bill nick? They don't do prawn sarnies tho that's only thing?

Im a member and currently on 602 points - those points have been built up since 2000-2001 when I was going to around 7-8 games a season as a 17 year old. I now go more or less every home game in all comps as a general rule and a few aways so on average I do between 25-30 games a season.

I think that the new way they are proposing is probably on balance a good thing. It will remove my points now from 2007-2008 and replace them with this seasons where I have been to slightly less fixtures than the said season meaning I will probably drop down to around 590 from the current total. All in all though it will make little difference to me as for I have been going all the time since 04-05.

What it will certainly do is encourage more people to make the effort of going to some of the Cat c games at home so they can build the totals up but that is still no use if the people are happy to turn up but not contribute to the atmospere although thats a whole new can of worms and a totally different argument.
 
Wasnt that always the case? that loyalty points was a rolling five year total rather than since the inception of the loyalty scheme?

It was for ST holders.

I did think that myself, but I dont rememeber having had any points removed for games we went too over 5 seasons ago
