Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

This. I am not entertained at all by the way we play in the majority of matches. ‘Angeball’ feels like a bit of a myth to me. I’ve witnessed it on only an handful of occasions in 18 months.

Arsenal - Sept 23
Liverpool - Oct 23
Saudi Sportswashing Machine - Dec 23

That was about it, wasn't it? Maybe Villa March 24 too

BBC being a bit disingenuous with their headline:

The full quote in context is him saying it's not about backing him, it's about backing the club and it's spun to look like he doesn't give a f**k about fans.

Yep give him the season and then look at the landscape then. Hate midseason sackings, its a virtual season write off
Or you get a freak bounce and win the FA cup with players that aren’t yours
Expect they are yours when people talk trophies won
But not yours when people wanna compare how crap things are

e
We need to give him the rest of the season at least. And maintain some patience. That was a frustrating game to watch, but it is still early days.
we will have more like that
We will also have more like city
That’s what happens when your rebuilding
You have ups and down and rarely anything in between

But we started defending much better under Arry pretty much immediately and we were better defensively under poch in year 2.
Did you see who Harry had available?
Woodgate, king, Dawson’ Corluka, Rocha
And we actually to defend better when he got Wilson in
He even says that himself
I agree teams will defend better but not when then are missing the spine of the defence
I don’t think Poch or Harry played any games when they were missing their first choice CBs and keeper and DM (as much as Bentacur is a DM)
And the guys who have come in have done a good job kmo
It’s just that we have broken other parts of the team where there is no cover because of injuries (the attack) or no rotation (full backs)

Exactly. Media is out to feed on the negativity and some Spurs fans won't learn and get riled by it.
This maybe the point in case in general and for the above but don’t assume that some of the negativity in regards to spurs is not warranted.

Honestly what have you seen in him genuinely to think that he has what it takes to move the club forward? I get it’s pointless to keep chipping and changing manager when you are hamstrung by our board and restrictions but surely there are managers out there that would do a whole lot more with this squad of players than him.

- City (x2), United, Villa show a game potential I haven't seen in years, when it works.
- Stats all point to being better than results, e.g. Chelsea GF 31, GA 15, 28 Points, 2nd place, Spurs, GF 28, GA 15, 20 points, 10th place, it's very small margins and once again, no Vicario, no VDV, no Romero, no Bentancur, no Richi and a few players obviously carrying knocks/fatigue.
- He fits the club, wants to play attacking football, isn't a complete bell-end, gets the limitations you referenced, and is willing to work with youth.

Now does his style create issues with injuries, and should we be doing more with current squad? those are real questions.

The next manager will be even less qualified and more of a punt

Stats mean eff all of you keep being naive at set pieces and leaving gaping holes at the back with similar yellow belly crumbles. I just don’t see how he has not addressed any of this seeing that it’s glaringly obvious not only to us but to the opposition also.

XG XA etc are good but it only works well when the main stat is in play and that is points.

I’m concerned at the genuine inconsistency and by players who run around like they don’t have a clue of what’s going on.

The games that you have mentioned, city have been pants for the patch that we played them, United were going to sack a similar inept football manager when we played them, and villas form in the league has been questionable also.

Why not also look at the flip side? Brighton, palace, Ipswich, Leicester …

How do you know the next manager will be more of a point than postecoglu … are you suggesting that we are looking to get Wayne Rooney in?

There are better managers in the world that could do a better job with this current squad. That’s my opinion but if you think he’s the best man to do a job then fair enough.

Like I said I think if this continues he will get hooked regardless of our opinions.

Stats are a perspective, e.g. if you are not scoring but creating chances it is part of evaluating the problems.

We have done the Conte/Jose thing, the next manager will likely be in the mold of a Poch/etc, most people ignore the fact that Ange has a lot more proven results that someone like Poch did, and I'd expect the next manager will be similar.

I'm not sure he's the best man for the job, but we have him, there seems to be an upside (on the better days), logic would say we stick a little longer.

We don’t look any more solid with Romero and VDV than we do with Drag us in to trouble and Davies. It’s just how we play. Someone said last night that any PE teacher in the country could get us looking more solid than Ange and I laughed but it’s true as well.

I think that’s the typical fan over reaction
But then when you have fans calling him names it shows the mind set of some
If we realky are that bad I can’t work out how were doing so well on our Xg against numbers
We must be playing some really brick teams
And I’m not saying we’re good by the way
Everyone puts it down to how we play and I did t see t(e game yesterday. I know they missed a tonne of chances in the last 30 mins, but their goal was from an unmarked corner. I dont believe leaving him free is how we play, I just think someone naively switched off and it can happen. That’s the 3rd set piece goal we have conceded this season. I think that’s better than most and not as good as some others and that’s with the team being constantly changed.
So maybe we do need a PE teacher and not a guy with 40 years in the game
I’d love to see the fans reaction to an appointment like that. That’s Steve cooper basically. I’m sure he was a teacher and he is available
