Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

Hoooooold on. We try and play out from the back, which is what we do (mate) pretty much all season, but that's not how you set us up? Also, did Conte and You call you to remind you to say that's not how you set the team up? And hold on, mate, hoping your 18 year olds are hurting when they weren't the issue? Ange, have a beer, mate, throw a shrimp on the barby and take a hard look at yourself.

I think he's referring to the way we sat dfeep for most of the first half and did not press or transition with anything like the intent we usually do. I have to say I thought it was a plan to play deeper, but it would appear not according to the presser.

The 18 year old gray is the only fit option we have and the 18 Bergvall is keeping maddison out of team on merit.
Moore should be keeping son out of the team if he was fit.
Not sure what ange can really do about that tbh.

Sounds to me like he's complaining about the press. "To be sitting in there and allowing arsenal to play to their tempo just wasn't good enough."

These games always start like that
Arsenal start fast for 20 mins then that drops
We then engage higher up and nick things and have regularly taken the lead
And then it goes to rat brick
I said ti my mate that they would score their goals either dies of half time and we would then either lose 5-2 or get a 2 all draw
The latter was actually possible in the end but if they were any good they should have had a lot more goals
Barely a bad challenge all game too
Was a poor spectacle

Yes, but according to some, in those moments we fly forwards and get absolutely hammered. We didn't. In the end I thought a draw was going to happen.

We weren’t controlled but we also weren’t gung ho
If we’re honest what is disappointing is we weren’t really anything
It was bland
Felt again… like on repeat … of too many players being tired
Odegard was controlling the game but he went sideways and backwards loads at a moderate pace
Deffo not a classic

Yeah, I think we've played worse and been far more open defensively...but everything felt so passive. Even from them. Every corner, free kick etc they were taking so much time. The really have become such a negative team. I think if we had someone to step up to run the game, we could have easily won it.

I really like him, but every week James Maddison proves more and more why he's only played for Norwich, Leicester and Spurs.

I fully expect Donley to overtake him soon and he will end up at Everton as their main man

I kind of felt that it was just blind hope we might get something out of it, nothing tangible from the team was making me think we would

Fair point. But there wasn't a ton of opportunity for us to press in the first half because we kept trying to play out from the back and getting caught.

What didn't help was that neither Solanke or Deki could hold the ball up tonight. I think they were just knackered.

Yeah, I thought Solanke was quite poor overall. But just having him out there is so important to how we play. In another season, Richarlison has played 10-15 more games and given Solanke the rest he needs (like not needing him for 60 mins against 'kin Tamworth)

Best piece he has ever written, IMO. And something I encourage all on here to read. It might not change your opinion, but it presents what feels like a good perspective.

It's certainly a fair one given the range of emotions and opinions on our current situation. It's the hope, etc, etc...
