Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

I think I'm gonna give this game a miss (and still end up changing my mind to get annoyed come 7.20pm) does anybody think Ange will be here come xmas if we get like 8pts in next 8 games?

I will still ride out whatever storms are coming while moaning but we have to see something thru as long as not properly dire
I think he will
But the negativity in some fans Will just grow and grow
Whatever we do
However we do it
The club has go through some pain to change

But you're one of the most kneejerk flip floppers on this forum!
You say you will ride it out, you say we have to see something thru, but you query if Ange will be here at Xmas and in every match thread you say you're gonna stop watching and then don't.
Try to spread positivity towards Ange and the squad.
We are building something and have big injury problems, but we are still getting started, too early to be the finished article.

Some of that true, but that is mostly in jest, i concede that may not always come across. But i do end up watching! I'm asking if others think he will be here, you know a poll!

I have always said i think Ange needs 3yrs regardless (unless relegation)

I know I moan thru our games and get frustrated. But it's also hard being positive when history has shown us very different when we go thru a dip. I think it's valid if in next couple of months the points tally isn't great. Just wanting to know if others think Levy sits thru it

We have been building something for years.

The next couple of windows are important.

True, but the longer it goes on the more data points the fans get. Hopefully, there will be more positive ones than negative ones soon.

As for the training ground conversation, there is always time to tweak tactics. They just have to be highest priority in the week. We can all form a circle and throw one man in the middle and kill him until he touches the ball. Sometimes that is not what is needed on the training ground.

If Ange can see and agrees with what you've articulated about our crosses, it is an easy training ground fix. You also might not even need to be on the training ground. Working with the video analysts and explaining the difference to a couple of players could be enough to drive a change in them.

The real concern is that Ange might not see this as a priority or has a different view on HIS tactics. That is why he earns the big bucks and will succeed or fail on his tactics.

He may not agree
And if he doesn’t he will lose his job
It’s impossible for any manager to defend their position when the same mistakes happen
I agree there is away time to fix things but there is also a correlation to how much time and also Who is available to coach
We have a quarter off the squad out now which means they arent training in the normal way. I don’t know how they get “educated” whilst injured but that to me is an opportunity
On the time thing, I don’t think it’s a coincidence that our 3 worst results have come against teams with a full week off to focus on us. They all set up perfectly to get the results

For me the build ain’t complete until the legacy of the last good guy has gone
That’s when we have replace Sonny and Davies
Not because they are weak links but because they aren’t Anges guys
But we have to keep it going

You wear your heart on your sleeve mate, never apologise for that.

Last season, I felt it was the pressers that exposed Ange's stubbornness and resistance to change. It was Spurs fans like Ali Gold and Michal Bridge that pushed on the set pieces and Ange dismissed them. However, even though Chalobah scored at the far post in May, the Sky commentary were talking how the Spurs coaches had changed their set piece defensive setup. Ange bit when they asked him whether he needed specialist coaches. He bit when they asked him about Venom getting blocked and not being strong enough. However, he eventually made positive changes.

Just like your commentary on marking after the evidence 10 games worth of 24/25 data, that conversation on set pieces started in 2023. It took until April for Ange to demonstrate a clear change in pattern of stats.

He will absolutely lose his job if he doesn't shorten these cycles of change. Even though he gets there in the end, football isn't a patient industry and the stake are high. Set piece defending cost us CL last year as much as injuries.

It's such a funny change of pace when called out for doing something to just own it like you did there, that's almost a novel take. This is the Internet don't you know, I think you were meant to deny / prevaricate/ call into question the weight of Bullet's mother, get with the script!

I'm not sure I am as set about on patience with Ange as you are, I think if we were genuinely to finish anywhere below 10th it'd be a serious worry for me. Even 6th to 10th would be majorly disappointing but palatable if there were chutes of hope from younger players who look seriously ready to step it up with a full season under their belt.

As for the last two lines, every club is in a constant building / rebuilding process but you do eventually require some evidence it's going in the right direction...Plus I'm pretty sure that every transfer window is important, for every club - It's pretty rare that a club approaches either Jan or summer thinking "Actually we're good". Maybe I'm being pedantic, they're not incorrect statements bit are just fairly easy to say if you catch my drift...

Manager is clueless. Can never get a clean sheet. Never mixes it up. Can't defend set pieces. Ange out.
If we can put four or five consecutive performances like that together then we’re moving in the right direction. We’ve seen great performances like today before, followed by shoddy defeats when the players don’t seem to turn up.

Time to enjoy it, but not the time to get carried away.

not so clueless but ange has got to learn to manage risks - in the PL anyone can beat you so defensive solidity has to come first.

perhaps this game will encourage ange that we can be good as a counter attacking team.

honestly i can't help but wonder what conte would be able to do with this team.

he needs to learn the lesson from today, and our other games against City

thats the way to approach every PL game, two DM's, bring the wingers back to help, hoof it when you have to, get players to fake injury and time waste, play keep ball at the end of the first half

be pragmatic every minute of every game

nice to see that after getting beaten AGAIN, this time at home, Guardiola was looking rather magnanimous in defeat.
he had nothing to complain about though - no time wasting or dark arts from a postecoglu side.

Yep, only 4 minutes of injury time said it all.
