ottenham will battle Barcelona for the summing signing of Sporting Lisbon's teenage superstar Wallyson Mallmann, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Brazilian starlet has been scouted extensively by Spurs, and has impressed for the Sporting Lisbon youth sides this season.
The 19-year-old also holds a German passport, and reports in Portuguese newspaper A Bola claim that Barcelona are keen on the midfielder after sealing the double capture of Sporting duo Agostinho Ca and Edgar le last year.
The Portuguese outfit have one of the most impressive youth academies in Europe, and acquitted themselves well in this year's NextGen Series, even beating Tottenham 5-3 in quarter-finals of the competition.
And it could be a busy summer for Andre Villas-Boas. The Spurs coach has been linked with a move for a new striker, while the same Daily Mirror report claims Scott Parker could be allowed to move on at the end of the season.
Mallman is yet to put pen to paper on a new contract with Sporting, which gives Tottenham the ability to bring him to the Premier League for a small compensatory fee if they decide to lodge a bid.
Tottenham themselves have an exciting group of youngsters coming through the academy.
Shaquile Coulthirst, Souleymane Coulibaly and Alex Pritchard are three of the names most commonly mentioned as potential first-team players for the coming seasons at White Hart Lane.
