Vlad Chiriches

He did well in the second half. There is clearly a player in him, I would be delighted if this was a turning point.

He looked more comfortable than Dier at right back and seemed capable of putting in decent crosses. Still had a couple of his trademark suicide passes, though. Risk assessment is not his forté,

Agreed.
I think there's long been a player there but his confidence got shot playing in such dross.
I'd play him over Dier at RB.

I'm not sure we can judge his performance today really.... Hull were completely spent as an attacking force as soon as they went down to 10 men. It made our full backs job extremely easy.

I think you may well be right, but credit to him today he did a good job out on the right

I didn't think he did very well; as usual he rushes forwards when he shouldn't. He had nobody down his side for 40 minutes, of course he looked comfortable!

Can't wait for Walker to get fully fit and motoring.

Kind of irrelevant what he looked like there as Walker will be back soon and seems like Yedlin will arrive in Jan. Unlikely that Chiriches will deplace either of those and no point keeping him as a third choice

My heart sank when I saw Chiriches, a CB that can't head a ball, marking Dawson on a set piece.

I think he is a talented footballer, but better suited to a less physically demanding league than the Premiership.

Bit of a role reversal. Dier looks better at CB than David Luiz mk II, but DL mark II looked better today at right back. As King of Norway points out, he just takes too many risks. You need good footballers in your side, but I wish we would sign more no nonsense type defenders. I would rather have Dawson back than play Chiriches at CB.

He looked well and truly out of contention. 4th choice at best at centre back, 3rd-4th at right back. He was given a chance from the bench, at least he put in a decent performance. Unlike Paulinho.

He's clearly not the biggest. But when Curtis Davies (I think it was) got a chance from a header at the end Chiriches was there and did exactly what he had to do. Just used his body strength to make sure the opponent didn't get a free header.

What happened in the first kicks of the second half sums Vlad up for me. Hull kicked it long into his corner straight from kick off and... he easily lost the header. We regained possession, he got it and then nutmegged one of the Hull players, all not that far from our penalty area and within the first minute of the match :ross:

Done well overall yesterday. Vlad has talent, but questionable decision-making - watching him play does tend to give me palpitations.

Play him on the wing.

Takes people on, has a bit of flair, an eye for audacious passes and an OK cross

Don't want to sell Vlad , there's definitely a talent there.

I'd play him at right back at Stamford Bridge against Hazard and see if he can get through that. With the self confidence he has, I'm sure it's a challenge he would relish and take on without fear.

We will get murdered if Poch plays him against Hazard. He cannot defend.
