Finney Is Back
Barry Daines
I reckon he’ll be off this summer.2 big injuries, but 2 injury free seasons (where he played 90 games) in between.
I'd defer to medical opinion, but I'd still put him on the unlucky, rather than prone, end of the scales.

Ive dont think Maddison is ready yet, is more of a prospect.
Would be a good buy for a season or so down the line, not as an immediate first team player.
More likely, if Lamela is to leave, Moura replaces him.
Maddison is unproven but great potential. Lamela is a top european player but with a very bad injury record.
A club with our finances i would go for the younger one.
I kind of see our current AM options as:
Playmakers: Eriksen, Lamela
Pace/trickery: GKN
Goals: Alli, Son
Bugger all: Sissoko
Moura would go into the pace/trickery option; but he doesn't have the vision or passing of Eriksen and Lamela.
A more balanced six for next season might look like:
Playmakers: Eriksen, Lamela
Pace/trickery: Moura, Malcom
Goals: Alli, Son
That's why I'd see Maddison as an alternative to Lamela (as Eriksen's back-up), whereas Moura is something quite different (GKN x10)
I think you might need to reevaluate your convenient pigeon holes. They are too abstract.
Eriksen and Lamela just dont overlap in our team at all. They play together, not in place of each other.
While I do think Lamela could play Eriksens role, it seems clear at this point Poch just doesnt agree.
Moura and Lamela occupy the same positions on the field, it would be either/or.
And if you watch Moura you will see his passing is pretty good, in fact his game in general reminds me a great deal of Lamelas - with added pace and directness. And it looks like he has goals in him as well.
Malcom also seems to occupy this side of the field, so in your 6 we would have 3 rwf players.

Im not sure we can draw that conclusion as Lamela has not really been available these past couple of games that Eriksen has been out.
Previously whenever Eriksen was rested for cup/europa league games Lamela was used in his place in the central playmaking role, iirc
I do think he is most likely off this summer though - too many injuries
I don't think the side of the pitch matters at all in our system - they are so fluid the AMs now.
Eriksen often ends up at RWF for example while Alli takes up the #10 position
That's why I think qualities, and what mix/balance of them we need against a specific opponent, is much more useful a way to categorise than right, central or left.

And we are currently short on homegrown players, especially including any new Brazilians and Sanchez turning 21. I'm a big Lamela fan though.
I genuinely dont recall him getting starts there more than a few times. I think if Poch agreed it would have been more common by now, as it is, to my memory - its barely happened.
I say that as someone who really thinks Lamela would thrive there as well.
Of course it matters. Son plays best on the left, when on the right he is nowhere near as effective. Ditto Lamela on the left being invisible compared to the right.
Eriksen plays centrally and floats because he can, because he is genuinely two footed and makes it work.
Yes, Son/Lamela (for example) come central and even switch flanks - but they do have a primary position which they play for the majority of the game.
Who would people rather - Lamela or James Maddison (the young Norwich playmaker)?
If this triple swoop is true & does happen in the next 2 days I'll be shocked - http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/01/2...igning-lucas-moura-javier-pastore-and-amadou/
