Transfer window thread?

It's almost as if every transfer is different and we adopt the approach that we think is best for each.

All considered, most clubs would kill for our recent record in the transfer market.

Especially those that have paid massive make ups for UK based players that have been average

If we was to sell Lloris id love us to get Butland. He lets in a ton against us, but the scores would be out of this world if not for him in many of the games.

Mahrez hitting form of late. Still would like him at the lane for some flair and creativity.

I’m coming round to the idea of Mahrez.

Dealbreaker that he sorts his barnet out first, mind.

I tjink those kind of players are very unique hence why Dier is so valuable to us

It’s not just the flexibility to play in both roles it’s the way he does it mid game that’s so rare and clever

I agree very hard to find one, but an injury to either Dier or Vertonghen over Christmas would give us big problems and both are aggressive tacklers and could pick up suspensions. If Wanyama and Alderweild are fit in the New Year it reduces the need.

I’ve always said Mahrez is absolute quality, all this one season wonder stuff is nonsense. He was quality before he won the title with Leicester and he downed tools like most of Leicester’s team, and is now back to normal form. With Son coming into real form now I guess we don’t need him as much, but would still love him here - what an option to have....

Mahrez is class and has the ability to step up too a top side

I tjink arse will be all over him to replace Sanchez

I think that would rather go for Demarai Gray if we are shopping in Leicester.
He’s more likely the market we’d shop in, but not the better player. We need to stop worrying about who’s the younger player with ‘potential’ and purchase a ready made top quality player once in a while....

Yes Bale wouldn't fit into the team ethic, would be paid silly money, but its so hard to find players that will take Spurs to the next level, the club have to at least keep the option open. If we can sign him, it would be a statement and would take us up a level. Having Bale, Son, Eriksen, Lamela and Kane we could win the PL. Rather than buy a few medium good players, I'd prefer we get one of the best players in the world in, if its possible. A no brainier. He'd come back to the new stadium and a Spurs team, with a professional manager that will win things.

But there are other players out there. Mane for example, is younger and almost as good as Bale.

I'm happy to continue with the business model that has kept us steadily improving over the last ten years. I'd agree that Mahrez is currently the better player but he would be expensive and would not increase in value under us. I also have concerns about his work rate and whether his form would be affected by not being an automatic starter.
