Transfer thread

No different to us is it? Diaz was all set to come to us and then soon as Liverpool came to us that was it. And no need to mention what Chelsea have done to us in the past, any player we want to sign and there's always someone on here worried Chelsea are going to come and steal them....
Not really true
We agreed to pay the release clause for Diaz but he had already agreed to join pool in the summer
Us doing that meant they had a choice to make and pool matched out offer

Saudi Sportswashing Machine own a country and banks and a percentage of most large companies in the western world.
They can get around "wages".
They are never paying £350k a week to get those top tier signings. They just don't make the money the other top clubs do and would have to run sufficiently in order to compete. 2 or 3 season out of the Champions league / Europe and they will go back to the mediocre team they were.

You know what, these massive companies/countries controlling these huge football clubs could just do business deals outside of the clubs, to avoid PSR.

So if Emirates Marketing Project wanted a Newcash player on the cheap so they didn't fall foul of PSR.
Or vice versa.
Surely Saudi PIF could put some money into some Qatari business or vice versa, nothing at all to do with the football clubs?

E.g. if they are buying oil or land or advertising or whatever in some other part of the world, they just do that deal for £50m and sell the player for £20m?

Won't always help the selling club, as they will lose a £70m player for only £20m on the books.

If they want to replace him out with the oil circle clubs then they would lose out on PSR.

They can't. No matter how rich the owners are there's only so much they can do to boost revenue. And since spending is tied to revenue, both for the PL and UEFA, they're hamstrung. They'll probably get there eventually, but it's going to take years before their revenue reaches the point where they can spend like City or Liverpool or even us.

They can open a bank account for the player in their country snd fill it full of money. Or get one of the companies they own to do some marketing with the player paying huge amounts for a couple of photos.
None of it could be traced back to Saudi Sportswashing Machine if they don't leave an email trail that can be hacked.
Mbappe got paid a fortune (£125m+) to be qatars ambassador for their world cup. Why do you think he put off joining madrid for a year?

Honestly I get the money side of things but why not play out career at the very top for as long as you can and then go milk it. The money that the players earn is already life changing. It’s bizarre but I guess the flip side is that they got into football as they had natural ability but always wanted the money and lifestyle. What do I know I’m 9 pints deep
