But just on practical grounds - he'd fail a CRB in this country, so wouldn't be allowed in the same facilities as our academy teams. He or they would need to use a different site

I dont think that is applied to football teams. Mixture of adult and youth comes under club level safeguarding or at least used to

I've just experience absolute paranoia about this when i've been at Blades or Wednesday training grounds. There is really tightly enforced physical segregation for anyone without CRB clearance. And rightly so in the context of that coach at Crewe and Adam Johnson etc.
