I rarely get upset and can usually maintain long-view...but this was exceptionally poor in light of the weekend. I am pressed to remember two such inept performances back to back. FWIW I thought bar 20 mins at the end of the first-half, this was the worst of season.

I go forth on Saturday knowing that we must smash them. I mean, smash them.
We need to make a statement.
For nobody else, only ourselves.

The last I can recall was the end of 15/16 season and I suspect that Pochettino will be having another clearout this summer to purge the squad of players who lack the winning mentality that he demands.

How we could’ve done with Dele and Dier (or even a fit Dembele) this past week, hopefully they are at least fit enough to make the bench for these 2 massive matches we’ve got coming up.

Maybe that was his way of challenging the players and asking them to prove him wrong. I must admit tho I did immediately think it was a bit odd.

Players can take it upon theirself to step up, they don’t always need to be told. Especially in a big game vs a rival.

Looks a bit jaded. Doesn’t suit him playing right up top.

They’ve coped ok for a few seasons, I expect them to sort it out.

I know that and when he's playing well it's forgivable, but after two performances like last night and Saturday it's not acceptable. The very least he should doing is trying. If Ozil put a display like that in we'd all be tinkling ourselves.

No chance. They're on fire we aren't. People say form goes out the window for derbies but that really only applies to our opposition when they are out of form. It's a great time to play us now for any team and they must be licking their lips. For these reasons I am predicting a comfortable win for them this time round.

Back to the Gerry Francis era of losing to the goons twice in a season.

Son has never been consistent for a whoe season. He has been more consistent this season to date but is due a dip in form, especially when you consider his national team exploits of late.....

Don’t hold with this rubbish of this or that player does not giving a brick, that’s insulting. These guy have given sterling performances over the past few seasons.
Our attacking was muddled and disorganised, this is Pochettino’s remit.

We’re a better side than them and like our run of four wins made us look better than we are, we are not as bad as these two defeats suggest. We’ll be back on form this weekend. They’ve also had two of the easiest games they’ll have all season.
 
The whole team looked jaded to me, zero legs. That was the biggest concern.

Are we completely burnt out? We know Poch's methods are taxing over the course of a season, add the World Cup minutes and it starts to scare me.

Really hope it's just a slump and we're back to firing against the ultimate scum this weekend.

Edit: the new stadium move could be the ultimate boost we need??
 
Don’t get the difference between Chelsea and Arsenal. They are both teams we need to beat. They where both equally important and “smashing” Arsenal will still just give us 3pts which was what the Chelsea game lost us.
So IF we beat Arsenal it will not make good or repair the damage of loosing to Burnley and a poor Chelsea side.
Arsenal are dreadful and flat track bully of a team currently. Trouble is what are we?

I get that and agree!

We went through a similar hiatus recently, I think the begging of the season, around the Liverpool defeat!
I’m no expert but I think we are a big confidence reliant outfit. Yes that fragile temperament problem again.
Pochettino has built a good team on the back of team confidence and spirit, so is it surprising when we go down hill when we lose? Getting the team self heal will take years, maybe at least another 5 or 10?;)
Who knows!

Give over!

You dont just install a mentality like software. He has given this group everything they need to grow and step up, and they have time and again - but it is THEY who need to make those steps. A winning attitude cant just be taught or forced in, they need to get there themselves.

His comments were to that effect. And last night they let him down.

I expect today they will be getting some home truths because of it.

Some people just love to pull the negatives out that arent even there, dont they? His comments were clear as day FFS.
