If this gets binned then league have got serious problems . The Burnley game off tomorrow as well. The leagues integrity is not looking good. Also Kloppo the clown and his false positive nonsense makes you wonder who’s gaming the Rona situation for their own benefit.

It's really their problem if they don't have adequate backups for something that they know will definitely happen at some point in the season (AFCON, Xhaka getting suspended). The timing of Xhaka being Xhaka is a bit more unpredictable, but still something Arsenal will have to take the responsibilty for.

I don’t blame Arsenal for asking for it to be off, they will push the rules to the benefit of the club as we would.

However If the league call it off the leagues is in trouble.

what stops us in requesting a game being called off if Son and Kane are injured and we don’t have back up through our errors.

it’s not the leagues job to postpone games through squad mismanagement.

but I imagine they will find some Covid cases and it will be off

Why didn't they just meet today and make a decision. Trying to rearrange flights and hotels for me, my son and mate the day before is a disaster.

1 covid case atm.

If this is called off the whole league is a tinkletake imo. AFCON players and suspensions should count as available (and play u23s in their places)

considering we had to play lasagna-gate there’s no reason to call this off

It really should be a simple question

would this have been played in Feb 2020.

if it’s a yes, it goes ahead.

There’s pushing the envelope and then there’s this. 1 positive covid test is not a reason to postpone and if so then this rule will be a abused throughout the season with this match setting a precedent. I’m sure a couple of teams have had requests turned down (SCBC and Leicester?)

"Earlier this week, Leicester's game at Everton was postponed for a second time with the Premier League stating they accepted the Foxes' application 'as the club do not have the required number of players available for the match (13 outfield players and one goalkeeper) due to COVID-19 cases, injuries and players on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations.'"

Reason Leicester game was called off.

That’s ridiculous . Plenty of players

So as it stands they would have a team like:

1. Ramsdale
2. Chambers
3. Tierney
4. Lokonga
5. White
6. Gabriel
7. Tavares
8. *
9. Lacazette
10. Martinelli
11. Nketiah
12. Leno
13. *
14. *
Don't know who else they have, call up the reserves/u23's to fill the gaps.

Also interesting that they have loaned out Maitland-Niles and Balogun during the last week. Both have played in the PL for them this season. Add those two and they would very likely have enough players.

If we have Romero, Dier, Son, Reguilon, Bergwijn and 1-3 signings available for the re-match, it might well come back to bite them.

Playing us when we have a weak back 3, limited support for Kane, not much on the bench and a defensive midfield isn't exactly a bad option

And that is why it's perfection. The first question the PL should ask them is why loan out 2 squad players if you are down to the bare bones?

The facts are right now we have a stronger squad than them. Whenever it is replayed we might have more players out than them, our injury situation might be worse than it is now who knows. Also, they might have new signings and they appear to have more cash ready to spend if they can - there is no way of saying we will be in a better position if it’s postponed. Right now Spurs want this game to go ahead and Arsenal don’t for good reason…..
