Even if we didn’t have anyone particularly good, Kane has kept on taking these free kicks for years now and time after time he doesn’t even work the keeper let alone score - it really is time for him to give it up. Dier takes a good free kick on him, would be happy to see the likes of Son have a consistent run at them if not. It’s not like we can get any worse than Kane’s efforts….

But seriously, Son has the ability, he's scored a few for South Korea. I don't know if there are others that are good on free kicks, as I don't see them daily in traing, but Kane has had about 1000 attempts and 1 deflected goal to show for. Surely its time for someone else to have a go for a while.

I remember years ago Kane took a fk against Arsenal from out wide and hit the base of the post. That was his best one ever. I thought he might have potential with them then.

What was the most pleasing thing for me was that our players really seemed to play with a smile on their face. This was epitomised by NDombele's joking around and hiding behind Dier at a corner. He got some rough punishment today but seemed to get up much quicker and generally was much faster all match. Well done Tonguy - keep it up.

Looking at MotD, they showed the average position of the players. It was more like what I'd like to see (and what it seemed to be during the game), closer to a 4231. Kane the furthest forward, with Ndombele behind him and Moura and Son on the wings. Hopefully we keep to this with the option of Lo Celso coming in for Ndombele, although Ndombele can't be dropped if he keeps up the standards of today

Dier won't work in this system - Tanganga would with his pace. Hopefully over time that'll happen.
Be good to replace Lo Celso with another inside Fwd like Son, and then Bryan can play wide or in the hole.
Concerned about what the backup options are for PEH and Skipp - it's certainly not Dele. Can be GLC temporarily.
If either PEH or Skipp are out I'd like to see Dier step into CDM (we've plenty of options for CB). He's the closest we have to those two.
Think it would be a disaster to see Dele or Ndombele shoved in there. Lo Celso would be next choice.
