We were poor final balls away from hatfuls of chances in the first half - from the oppositions pov that's riding your luck rather than defending well by design so i would say yes we did batter them

I don't think West Ham were riding their luck as our players weren't capable of playing those passes. It's not really rising your luck when the players can't do what it is that you would need to do in that scenario.
