That was silly by Dawson - a backheel then a lunge to try and make up for it. Not the brightest. Feels to me like our English players are most prone to this sort of thing _ Daws, Walker, Rose
 
Dembele just doesn't suit the more advanced role. No chance. Sig is much better suited to it.

I think Dembele will have to compete directly with Sandro, Capoue and Paulinho rather than with Sig I think. Otherwise I just can't see him being either effective or getting minutes on the pitch.
 
Hate the score just being 1-0, especially at home. Realy need a second so I can breath out again !
 
The dynamic has changed, but is it a temporary surge, or will it be like this for 20 mins? Hope not.

Not sure whether to bring on Sandro to shore it up or keep attacking... we seem to be WAY more open since Dembele went off though.
 
Against Palace we won ZERO of the long goalkicks, and I think it is the same today. Terrible percent win rate on those.
 
We need to change formation or personnel, perhaps Sandro for more legs in midfield, and Defoe for more legs on the break
 
I don't know whether it was Dembele going off directly that changed things but ever since that sub we've looked so much weaker, both in possession and defensively.
