****** Tottenham Hotspur vs Stoke City OMT *******

Please don't start on the corners...what a disgrace. we reallylook clueless and this gives sides confidence whhen they have to defend against such poor quality balls.

Last season, we unanimously praised the Based GHod when Nelsen got his head on a corner and scored. In March or something, so utterly pathetic were our set-pieces.

This season, Verts, Caulker, Bale and Daws have all scored from set-pieces(off the top of my head) in the first half of the season, and we're conceding far fewer from them as well. So kindly drop that utter rot.

Work on our corners and free-kicks? Pretty sure Stoke are one of the best teams defending them.

You're blaming AVB for one chance that Adebayor missed? That's a bit clueless.

Lennon? This one I have no idea about.

Make subs earlier? We had our best eleven on the pitch. We were playing as well as we had played during the game around the 60-75 minute mark and you wanted him to make a change?

Mate you are really watching a different game to me.

What did we create from corners and free kicks - in fact this has been a failing for some time not just today.

Addebayor was absolutely useless in the air today - he missed a sitter of a header as well.

Lennon - clueless and useless in the first half. Played a little better on the left - but has lacked any threat for a good few games now.

Subs - we are struggling to score at home. We have a winger who has been less than useless. We leave Sig (who has been playing well recently) on the bench until about the 75th minute. We then replace an attacking cm with a defensive cm when we need a goal.

Just what positives do you see in that?

IF we had snatched that late win if Sig managed to score then would he hear this vitriol? Just like how Verts goal changed everyones mood last week?

You guys... Honestly...

It's like they've already decided before the game started that we will struggle since we're at home, AVB is clueless and some players never do anything right.

How many of those came directly from the crossed corner?

I didn't say i see positives, i just don't believe some of your negatives are actually real negatives.

Ade missing is a negative, i still have yet to understand how this is AVB's fault.

We've been better at set pieces this season than last.

We are struggling to score at home yes. Against the teams that sit 10 men behind the ball to make it difficult for us to score.

Would you like me to go and ask them to stop making it difficult for us?

It wasn't a brilliant performance, but it wasn't a particularly bad one either.

I would like a team inspired by a manager to be positive from the first minute to the last. Is that asking too much?

The 'crossed corner' being the only form of set-piece worth practising, of course.

We need more attackers of the ball, that's for sure. But to claim we're worse (or even as bad) at set pieces than we were last season is just patently false.

In every game?

Well yes it is asking too much. Just like last season when our players weren't always motivated.

Just like every other team in existence that aren't always motivated no matter who their manager is.

My point exactly. Surely we must work of that in training. Why do we continue to be so diabolical if we have a tactical wizard at the helm?

Norwich's recent fine run has largely come about from their set pieces. We should take a leaf out of their book.

Don't weasel out of it, we were specifically referring to corners, as you well know

The point is that we havent performed well at HOME all season. It is not an isolated incidence. We are turgid and insipid - it is proving hard to watch.

He must have listened to the match on the radio to post rubbish like that. Watch a replay mate and see most either go staight to the keeper, over for a throw or straight to a stoke defender.

Again, the 'crossed corner' is not the only one out there. Secondly, Stoke have two masterful aerial defenders, six or seven big lads and a defence drilled relentlessly in clearing aerial threats. Ergo, they are mostly in the right place at the right time.

The only criticism you mention that is legitimate in my eyes is the number of times Bale's in-swingers whistled into touch. There I agree with you, and I don't think Bale should be taking them anyway. Sig would be better at it.

We've scored 6 goals from set pieces this season, only 6 teams have managed more. Our corners today were far more threatening that Stoke's and not just because we had more of them.

Possession: 63%-37%
Pass Success: 86%-68%
Aerial Success: 38%-62%
Offsides: 1-2
Fouls: 8-12
Corners: 11-4
Throw ins: 30-16
Dribbles: 7-6
Tackles: 24-25

Total Shots: 22-4
On Target: 5-1
Off Target: 8-2
Hit Woodwork: 0-0
Blocked: 9-1

For me it's not just the result, it's the dire football...disjointed, no tempo, litte movement etc. Not great to watch.

We performed well against - Swansea, Panathanikos, West Ham, Maribor, Aston Villa.

Don't let that stop you though.

We have Verts, Dawson, Adebayor, Caulker, Bale, (Kaboul) all big tall boys and we cant fashion a run and cross for them to score from a corner. Truely shocking imo

Andre: "Difficult game. We tried everything we could to break them down. We had a real go, credit to Stoke defensively. It's a point at home which isn't what we wanted but we keep going and we look to Villa on Boxing Day. They are solid and aggressive. They don't really give you much space. We tried it all but it didn't fall our way today"
