We didn't take our chances. And we lacked urgency for half the game. Ref could have given a red for the elbow - probably should have. Better passing and movement might have helped. There were some positive for me however.
 
Good performance, bad result opposite to what was happening earlier in the season.
Siggy was top class when he came on.
 
Fair play to Stoke. They are so incredibly fudging anti everything that is right about football, but they are in the Premier League and they get results against teams like us.

When we went direct right at the end we looked more threatening than we had most of the game. You need to unsettle sides like Stoke, not just play football in front of them for 90 minutes, and show them how well you can pass the ball.

No, when we went direct at the end Stoke looked comfortable to head the ball out.


I wish we had the mentality of United. When they need a goal late on they don't just hoof and hope, they wait patiently, build and attack and then strike. Usually score as well.
 
they'll easily stay up but I reckon there is an argument that stoke are the worst team in the premier league, they offered absolutely no threat to us today from what I saw

even your southamptons, qpr's and west hams look like they have a goal in them, when begovic took possession he was purposely dropping kicking it out of play, madness
 
Let's not be too hard on the team after this. They worked hard. Stoke weren't just negative, they were super negative for the entire game. They do it when they go away to somewhere like Villa but the problem with facing a team of our stature is that they will show even less ambition. They had absolutely zero desire to score a goal today.

Our attacking play wasn't outstanding, but we were stopped by a fantastic Begovic save. Ade should have scored his header, and if Sandro showed more composure we could have been in there too. When a team defends with that level of men behind the ball, there are never going to be too many clear cut chances. We had to take one of them when they came.

Also thought Siggy on for Defoe would have been a good sub, but the crowd would have not have liked it, turned the atmosphere bad and therefore it was probably more trouble than it was worth.
 
the sooner these dirty cheating clogging cheating ****s are relegated the better. Why wasn't their keeper yellow carded for time wasting? He wasted five minutes of the game just from his goal kicks. Compare this ref with the one for the Arse game, that will explain why they always finish ahead of Spurs.
