*** Tottenham Hotspur vs. Saudi Sportswashing Machine Utd *** OMT

How would you plug the £25m hole in our finances if we lose our EL revenue? Which extra players (in addition to those we need to sell to buy) would you sell?

"Although Tottenham earned €5.9 million prize money (£9.2 million including gate receipts) for reaching the last 16 of the Europa League"

We didnt even get that far this year so it will be less.

Sell one of many crap players that we don't need and we are sorted.
The squad needs trimming anyway.

Either we take the competition seriously or we get out of it.

Ultimately what decides if we compete in the EL is if we are good enough to qualify for it or not, this year I think there is a doubt about that, I also think we should use it to give fringe/squad and young players games, its excellent for experience and must broaden up and coming players perceptions, also we would have nothing to look forward too on Thursday nights.

And tv money too - 10-12 matches broadcast worldwide

We should take the tournament more seriously. I do think we could win it, and I do think it's the easier route to the CL than trying to leapfrog 2 of Arsenal, United and Liverpool over 38 matches

Find it difficult to get motivated for this match. Will the team even bother turning up for this match ? Recent performances suggest the team is already in holiday mood. And disappointingly Pochettino can't seem to lift the team now. In fact, not sure if the team is even reacting to Pochettino's instructions anymore. Can't see Pochettino match AVB's record 72 league points now as we will have to win the remaining 6 matches to achieve that. His target now should be to finish in top 6 atleast. It will be a failure on Pochettino's part if we finish outside the top 6 as we have never finished outside top 6 for the last 5 years.

We have a poor record at Saudi Sportswashing Machine as we have only won 2 times in the last 10 league matches there. We did win 4-0 last season, with Adebayor scoring 2 goals. But that was due to a rare good performance by Adebayor. Now we will need a similiar match-winning performance from Kane to win this match. Unfortunately for us, Kane was out of form in the last 2 matches. We badly need him scoring again if we want to get something from this match. With him at 19 league goals now, will be disappointed if he doesn't overtake the 21 goals scored by Bale in 2013. We also badly need Eriksen get back his goal scoring form again. Not sure what happened to Eriksen as he has not scored in 13 matches or so now. Wish he can score again in this match.

Our midfield have been the cause of our recent problems. If Pochettino doesn't make positive changes in midfield, then you have question his capability as the manager. Surely, he cannot be playing the same Mason-Bentaleb partnership in midfield. They have become too soft to handle for opponents. We need to play a midfield which can trouble the other teams. To do that, we need a more experienced midfielders like Dembele and Stambouli. Also prefer Chadli and Lamela to start as well.

Wish we can start Fazio and Vertonghen in defence. I think they are our best defensive partnership when fit. Similiarly wish we can have Lloris back in goal. Still not convinced by Vorm as he seems to be conceding too many easy goals. It is disappointing that Pochettino didn't try to strengthen our defence in the January transfer windows despite all our problems in defence. Maybe Pochettino needs to look at himself and concentrate on improving our defence soon. With our poor record at Saudi Sportswashing Machine, just can't see us keeping a clean sheet in this match. Just hope we won't concede more than 1.

After the 2 disappointing results against Burnley and Villa, we need a good performance and result in this match to lift our morale. Hope we will turn up with the right mentality and get that morale-boosting win.

Any team news yet ?

Hope Lloris and Vertonghen are fit for this match. Will be very very annoyed with Pochettino if he starts Mason-Bentaleb again in midfield. Surely, he should have learned from his mistakes and have an alternate plan by now. Apart from a good performance, we badly need a goal from Kane and a win from this match ! Hope we will do just that !

Lets try something different - and give Kane some support. The 4231 looks tired, jaded and increasingly ineffective. It shackles our flair players (the likes of Lamela, Townsend and Chadli), makes Erikesen ineffective and doesn't give enough cover to our back four or enough support to our forwards. For me it is fast becoming a busted flush and we need to develop something better.

Saudi Sportswashing Machine have been poor lately, but I'd still put out 11 men against them ;)

No Townsend, I'm happy. And Fazio at CB. Hopefully Dier is less of a liability on the right.
