Coach: André Villas-Boas (POR)
With Smith and Carroll starting for the U21s tonight I think they'll be on the bench at best.
Thanks for this.
Any chance you could post an updated squad list in numerical order? Thanks in advance.
Can you explain that logic? Why does them playing for the U21s mean that they'll be on the bench on Thurs?
If we were planning on them starting on Thursday they wouldn't have started yesterday IMO. Could still feature, but depends on how they recover.
Lloris
Naughton Dawson Caulker Vertonghen
Huddlestone
Sigurdsson Livermore
Lennon Townsend
Dempsey
Subs: Cudicini, Walker, Gallas, Sandro, Dembele, Falque and Defoe
I think that is a team that can go and get a good result for us in Athens still with half an eye on an importnant league game on sunday that we need to win. Be nice to start getting the likes of Adebayor and Parker fit so we can have a couple of extra options for these games as well as increased competition for places in the league.

It's no different than playing on thursday and then the Premier League game on sunday.
Which several players have done so far, Vertonghen one of them.
If anyone should be able to handle it then it would be the youngsters.

Fairly certain Adam Smith for one will be starting,
and if he doesn't then both Walker and Vertonghen will be in the same situation on sunday of "only" three days rest.
we cant carry on playing Vertonghan as much as we have been though. He's been playing in the league, Europa and Carling Cup. Hopefully Naughton will be back soon
why risk Smith if he's set to start on Thursday?
