You wouldn't think so. Bale can't win tbh, by far our more lethal player and yet so criticised one wonders if we'd prefer to resort back to mid-table crap. He goes the whole thing falls apart. I am delighted with a point, hard game, with many injuries and yet could have won had Bale finished a chance he and Modric (once again) combined to create. Without Bale's brilliance vs Wigan I am not sure that it would have been so comfortable so if we have a tough day at Pool and come away with a draw then I am delighted.
I'm happy with that, horrible preparation leading up to the match, missing half a team and a manager. Gritty, tough performance, good to see some fringe lads perform well, fought hard for the point. Oh and Monday Night Football is brick and Sky should give up on it
So thats City and Liverpool away out of the way, still 7 points clear of 4th and 8 clear of 5th and we have the team in 5th next at home. I'm very happy.
Not blinkered, yes he should have scored. But that applies all over the pitch, in every game. How many chances do we create and don't convert? This season more than any. Yet Bale draws the vitriol. So no blinkers, wide open to recognising sportsmen make errors. Your clearly not.
Saha for Adebayor was such a pointless substitution, unless there was an injury we should have gone 4-4-2. At the end of the day though we were depleted, away, we barely got out of fifth gear and liverpool were playing well and we still got a point
Absolutely massive point. Great rearguard. Still 7pt gap 14 to go. Really happy with the point, okay not much of an attacking threat, but 7 1st teamers out.
Attacking wise probably the worst we've looked all season. We were effectively playing without a striker over the 90 minutes. Defensively, one of the best.
Without Redknapp, Gallas, Kaboul, Sandro, Lennon, JD, VDV etc, I'm happy with that point.
Now, for the love of GHod, get VDV, Defoe, Lennon, Kaboul and Sandro back for Saudi Sportswashing Machine.
