Very good performance against a dangerous side. We had flair, grit and creativity in equal measure today. That's more like it chaps.

Thought Fazio was brilliant today. He"s going to be a big player for us.

Great result, we needed the win anyway we could get it.

But big shifts from Lennon, Kane, Soldado, Eriksen, and much better defense without the ball.

Really would like to see same starting line with Walker instead of Vlad/Dier
 
Nice to hear the WHL faithful rediscover their voices as well. The best astomphere at a league game for quite some time.
 
Much better performance all round, that's the start we need to build on that now.

Chelsea next and only 3 days to recover, with all the energy spent out there today it's going to be tough.
 
Phew. Well done lads, a lot better then we have been recently. We needed that.

Kane and Eriksen were great. Kane is such a workhorse to the shame of certain others in the team. Not perfect, of course. We looked so scared late on that a better team would have punished us. Lamela is ****. Nothing is changing with him. He is'nt good enough to do all the fancy tricks and flicks he tries. He cant run past anyone when he has the ball. He is turning into Taarabt but with more gel in his hair.

Overall a great day all things considered. Lets hope its not back to square one in the next game.
 
For the first time in ages we didn't look like we could implode at any moment! We kept our shape and showed grit and fight! Even Paulinho looked up for it!

Yeah, Verts was saying that the forwards and midfield actually worked really hard and helped out [i.e. they don't always all do that]

Very good work from everyone today, that is the most we've run for ages 122km

No passengers fannying around in a "3 behind the striker" like you get in a 4231... everyone in a 442 clearly has a role and cannot hide so you end up with more running, more work, better passing angles, fewer 5 yard passes...

MUCH better than usual, they all wanted to be out there and everyone did well.

Eriksen, Kane, Bentaleb all brilliant. Fazio and Verts excellent too.

Probably only Chiriches was not great, but I don't expect much at all from that idiot.
 
Finally a defence that looks solid and organised. Other than Mirallas' unstoppable shot, Everton had nothing on target. Obviously we need Walker back asap but Chiriches was half decent though the flare up of his back is ominous. Fazio and Verts were pillars of granite in the middle and Davies was half decent as well. Davies is not particularly strong going forward but you can see he is a genuine defender and just loves to defend - the opposite of Rose. I think there will be games when Ben would be better and others when Danny is the more suitable option.

Hopefully we will never see Kaboul on the pitch again...
 
obviously such an improved performance, don't know really know where that came from and on a sunday after europa as well but hoping we can build on that, poch should stick to this formation. We could be a different team with a proven goalscorer, who knows if Soldado will come good now, the only negative is Lamela, again looking lost out there, this just isn't the right league for him to showcase his talents
