*** Tottenham Hotspur vs Anzhi ex-Moneybagscashcowala OMT ***

If he can't even get into the squad for a dead rubber game like this then he's unlikely to feature again, ever.

I don't get why he was brought back for Emirates Marketing Project if he isn't going to feature again. Seems a really strange decision. He wasn't any worse than the majority of other players in that game. And as AVB established the principle that he is willing to play Ade, why not keep him in the squad. Maybe he will be on the bench against Liverpool -although I doubt it.

Makes the decision to bring him back a few weeks ago seem ludicrous. The problem we have is who in Janunary, will pay more then a 10 shillings for an unfit Adebayor.

2-0 has been my go-to prediction in the Europa League this season so I'll stick with that. Roll on the draw on Monday lunchtime.

Adebayor's value was always going to be low in January. That has nothing to do with how many games he has played this year and is entirely down to him wanting big wages and because he has fallen out of favour at every club he has been at. I suspect that we will only have clubs interested in taking him on loan but we can hgardly complain, that is how we got him in the first place and we can hardly complain that we didn't know what he was like.

Twitter / SpursOfficial: Team news for tomorrow's match against Anji at the Lane http://bit.ly/1iWNGwx #THFC
Playmaker Christian picked up an ankle injury on international duty for Denmark last month while full-back Danny has been sidelined since suffering a foot injury against Tromso on September 19.

“We will look to try and give Danny Rose a couple of minutes in this game and Christian Eriksen is also selected, so there is the possibility that he could play some minutes as well,” said Andre.

There was also good news on defender Vlad Chiriches, who injured a knee at Fulham last week.

“There is a good possibility that Vlad might be available for the game against Liverpool, but not tomorrow,” added Andre.

Jan Vertonghen (ankle), Harry Kane (back) and Younes Kaboul (quad) remain out with Development Squad players Laste Dombaxe, Ryan Fredericks, Shaq Coulthirst all drafted into the squad again – all three made the trip to Tromso last time out.

“It has been our pattern in the Europa League to make seven, eight changes or more, it has worked well for us, we have the quality in our squad and have maximum points so far,” said Andre. “We will continue to do that.”

Anzi have a bare bones team apparently. Only 20 people including staff have travelled apparently and a few youth team players amongst them. We should really have nobody from Sundays starting XI involved at all.

I trust that you will be back on to accept that you were wrong if we put out a team of fringe players, people coming back from injury and kids tomorrow.

I certainly will my friend. By the same token, will you accept you were wrong if AVB picks a side with players likely to feature on sunday ?

Is Bentaleb in the squad? Whenever I saw reports on our U21s last year this lads name popped up everywhere

team for Liverpool (imo):

----------lloris
walker--dawson--vlad--naughton
---------sandro---paulinho/dembele
--lennon-----holtby-----townsend/chadli
-------------defoe

so, team for anzhi:

-----------friedel
someone---kaboul(?)--fryers(?)--rose
-----------capoue
-----eriksen-------sig
--lamela-----soldado----kane

Potentially have to play some youngsters at the back, but it's a great game for them to play in.

I wouldn't use Capoue, we may well need him against Liverpool. So the question remains, who would I use as the defensive midfielder?

Definitely not Sandro. Maybe Holtby, if there is a strong likelihood that Eriksen will be fit for Sunday. I don't think we need an out and out defensive midfielder, instead someone combative who can win the ball and play tidy passes.

34,000 people may turn up for this game.

All paying good money and some travelling long distances.

It is also on the telly. The proper telly.

But those people going to the game will have no doubt about what to expect. The travelling fans won't expect our strongest team, they're travelling because they're Spurs fans and want to support their team.

It doesn't matter, as far as that's concerned, which players play, it's all about the club.

Exactly. Any fan going to the game expecting or wanting to see the first team tonight clearly knows little about football.
