Tottenham Hotspur v Wigan Athletic Match History 2005-2013 & OMT

I'd go for.

--------------Lloris----------------
Walker---Verts---Daws----BAE
--Holtby---Hudd------Dembele
Dempsey--Defoe------Bale

Even if he's fit to play, I wouldn't risk Lennon from the start here. The thing I like about this team is we have three goal scorers up-front, and three midfielders who can do a bit of everything behind. We also don't need a full-time tackler. If Hudd can do a job on Tevez, I'm pretty sure he can handle Maloney. And to be honest, he did much better defensive work than Parker did on Sunday, before you even mention the majestic passing and great vision. Hudd has to start, for me.

3-0 COYS

It is so great to see Lennon running at players in training again. Definitely on the bench for this one. Bring him on late unless we are like 3-0 up or something. No point risking him.

Be interesting to see what happens with Fryers and Rose next season - neither proably good enough to be first choice but you dont need 3 LBs. Might be best if Fryers is loaned out for the season to PL team

Based on this season's form your comments about Rose are debatable, especially when one considers how ropy BAE has been. I hear he is favorite to be Sunderland's player of the season

Lewis Holtby says our mentality has to be right as we go to Wigan for another crucial match in the Premier League on Saturday.

Victory would move us into third place in the table with Arsenal (home against United) and Chelsea (home against Swansea) in action on Sunday.

Perrenial survivors Wigan are scrapping for their lives again and slipped back into the bottom three after successive defeats against City and West Ham.

However, the FA Cup finalists showed typical fighting spirit with a run of one loss in five before those setbacks.

We came from 1-0 down to beat City 3-1 in a memorable victory at the Lane on Sunday and Lewis insists we have to take that mentality to the DW Stadium.

“It’s a tough place to go, they are fighting for every point, every point is vital, but that’s the case for us as well,” said the midfielder who made such an impact off the bench against City.

“I saw the match where Wigan beat Everton 3-0 (in the FA Cup) and we’re all aware of what they are capable of.

“We have to go into the game with the same mentality as the game against City and try to put them under pressure, play our game, try to get early goals and get the job done.”

hope Holtby starts.. i'd go with:

----------------------Ew-go-----------------------

Cactus-------Daws---------Verts-----------------
--------------------------------------------Ben-wa
---------------------Dembele---------------------

------------------------------Lewis----------------
-------------Stiggy--------------------------------

Bale---------------------------Dempsey----------

---------------------Ade---------------------------

go for max energy in the middle. holtby can do parker's job and siggy would thrive playing more centrally in my opinion.

bring lennon and defoe on if we desperately need a goal towards the end.

thudd to come on at the 60 minute mark for whoever is most tired out of the central midfield trio.

3 - 0. Ade x 2, Dempsey

This is exactly the sort of game we would have lost under Harry. I hope we've come far enough as a team from then to make sure we give it our all in this one, Wigan are fighting for something but we are too, and with our quality there's no excuse for losing this one.

I really wanna see a 3man midfield for this one. i think mousa ability to glide past players will be essential considering wigan lack a true dm/ball winning mid.

I really like Maloney, technically very good.

Excellent player. I liked him alot when he was at Celtic but the move to Villa looked like it had finished him really. Went away and worked himself back into the Premier League and has looked fantastic for the last year or so.

We need Pav back for this one. His sub appearance was the beginning of his re-emergence as one of the best strikers in the world.

who did he make way for.........................................................................................................?

super super PAV................I wonder what he would have played like in the present set up?

Having Defoe, Bale & Lennon all available against Wigan is a huge boost to our attacking prospects - combined, they've scored 14 goals against Wigan between them.

and Hud.........................................................................................................................:-"

is this game a sell out............anyone?... will it be possible to get a ticket on the day?

everytime I see us play there it looks half empty....

Thanks for that.............no cheering though?

That's a judgement call, personally I wouldn't, it's a very strange way of watching football and not being able to shout/cheer (I imagine it's what being an Arsenal fan is like). If you and you mates are fudging hench I'd say go for it! Otherwise it's probably best to look like a neutral observer who's just there for the love of football (and pies)
