FA Cup used to be so special for us that we used to take it very seriously. But it is a pity we no longer take it as seriously as before. Nowadays we tend to struggle in the FA Cup, even against shyte teams. Can see us struggle again in this match. The last time we played Leicester City in FA Cup was in 2006 when we lost 2-3 away despite leading 2-0. It was a disappointing result but we had a poor team then, with the likes of Robinson in goal, Stalteri, Gardner in defence, Brown in midfield and Rasiak in attack. Surely, our current team should be doing much better than that especially at home, even if we are still struggling.
With the League Cup semi final 2nd leg next week, don't mind if we rest a few key players. I think we need to rest players like Vertonghen, Eriksen and Kane to keep them fresh against Sheff United. Soldado should be starting in attack after creating the crucial goal against Sheff Utd. Don't rate Adebayor but don't mind us bringing him on in the 2nd half if we are comfortable then. It will be great if Lamela is back as he can help our attack. Want to see Lamela start and and having a positive impact on the match as he had been missing for so long.
Still not sure which is our best midfield as Pochettino always change it around. Want to see us start Dembele and Capoue in centre midfield. Wish we can start Lennon as well. Even if we want to sell him, it is not bad to make use of Lennon as long as he is at Spurs. But then Lennon was in that side who lost 2-3 to Leicester in 2006. So, maybe he won't enjoy playing against Leicester. Still not convinced of Townsend but he should be proving his worth against teams like Leicester.
Our defence did well to keep the clean sheet against lower division Sheff Utd. It was our first clean sheet in 6 matches. Will be disappointed if we don't get another clean sheet here, even if we rested the likes of Vertonghen. Surely, we should be stopping teams like Leicester scoring at home even if error-prone Kaboul start in defence. After being rested against Sheff Utd, want to see Lloris return in goal. We can't be resting our no.1 goalie for too many matches. Also, we need a leader like Lloris in defence.
Surely, the team need no motivation to do well in this match. Someone should be telling Pochettino and the players how special FA Cup once was to us. Our rich history in the FA Cup actually designed the club the way it is now. We were the last non-league team to win the FA Cup in 1901. It is a pity we have not win it since 1991. Hope we will do all we can to go all the way to win it this season. Anything but a win will be unacceptable in this match !
