*** Tottenham Hotspur v Chelsea ***

He was mumbling quite a bit. I picked up that he had to toe the club line when asked why NDombele wasn't in the squad . I also heard him say he was bored of answering the same questions, but wasn't sure what this referred to specifically.

Does that suggest the club told him not to play Ndom so that he can be offloaded this window?

Pathetic but as to be expected it's pretty much the same in every big game and SF and Final

Enjoyed getting back to Stratford to be greeted by a 10 deep platform of West Ham singing Tottenham get battered
Jumped on a train back to Liverpool Street, waited 20 minutes for another train to walk into a huge load of Chelsea fans singing Tottenham get battered
Get on the train stop at Stratford about 1,000 Norwich fans get on,5 start singing Tottenham get battered

Amazing !!

That’s what I was thinking. Either to avoid injury risk or to try and force Ndombele to accept / request a transfer. Speculating of course as Conte hasn’t been using him off the bench that much anyway but maybe the club line is that to get rid we need to leave him out for either of those two reasons?

That was in response to the gap between us and Chelsea in terms of quality.

In which case it was very strange for Conte to leave all of the following on the pitch for 90 minutes?.... Moura, Davies, Royale and Kane (though I appreciate we don't have a single, bona-fide other option in the squad for him).
I said that to my friend on the way to the game. It was neither here nor there. But like u say, that’s also an indictment of the lack of attacking bodies in the squad. Quite confusing tbh!

Think fans get more obsessed about when players need resting than coaches, I’m quite sure they can cope playing Wednesday followed by Sunday. Out of those you’ve named only Ben Davies played in the previous game, in a game against lower opposition and LCB isn’t the most physically demanding of roles….

I think he must be managing those players by sports science numbers? I agree, strange but it is the only conclusion I can come to. Kane is the outlier - makes literally no sense to keep him on, unless he needs these minutes to keep morphing into the leaner player he undoubtedly has become under Conte???
Moura, I suspect, has numbers which show him in good health and not close to muscle fatigue, Davies probably desperation for lack of options and Royal? Again, maybe getting him to speed for Sunday (perhaps he needs to be 'fluid' to perform better)? Admittedly scratching for reasons here, but these would make the most (no)sense?

It is clear the Reggie is a player who needs to be managed muscle-injury-wise, Dier I suspect was precaution to get him to the full 100%, and for me, the biggest question is whether he will gamble on Romero back this weekend or give him another game to get fit. My hunch is we will not see Romero on Sunday. I think Conte will feel he has enough for them, instead bringing him back at Leicester with the intent of him being match-fit by Chelski.

With Harry i can only think thats a case of trying to play him into form, or dropping him makes it to obvious that we had resigned to going out.

I wonder where Kane’s head is at now. Don’t know if we’re gonna see the best of him again unless he signs a new contract and not sure he’d want to.

My hunch, and only a hunch, is that the first choice players that were on the bench either had niggles or for other reasons weren't ready to start.

If Dier is back I definitely don't think Romero will be thrown right in. Don't think he will be either way really, out for this long it's usually a return to the match day squad first, particularly when games are coming in quick succession.
