Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

Wow, 6 figures? If that is the cost then i will be amazed if we sign anyone this window regardless of if we shift players. I think we (and Poch) will have to strap in and how our squad can stay afloat for the rest of the season.

Oh well, we've got this far so hopefully we can keep it going.

COYS

Poch has already said on a few occasions before today's announcement that he doesn't expect any signings in this window.

Yep indeed. I just hope we (and he) can hang on in there. Must be frustrating for him as much as anyone else as he must feel we are so close but fear that by the time we are able to flex our 'moment' with the current band of brothers will have passed as others start to rebuild and re-enter the ring as it were...

Deflating. Timed release after another good result. Possibly leaked beforehand.

It’s nice that people are remaining positive and it’s only one more month etc, but it’s been one more month for quite a while now and those games, at this time of year with a refund on offer are going to end up with small attendances. I’m not particularly confident that this will be the last delay
I guess the players and Poch feel the same, however they’ve done brilliantly to not let this affect them and deserve a lot of credit. If we hadn’t got the results we have the atmosphere and attendances would be even worse!

Questions about the project competence aside, this must be killing Levy. Every match missed is costing the club 6 figures.

I get where people are coming from but at the end of the day its a more perception thing based on the clubs ambitions to open this season. If at the start the club said "March 2019" no one would be moaning or feeling deflated now, the fact they tried for the start of the season but its now likely to be March 2019 makes it feel more depressing but its not really.

For me the reality was since before Christmas (remember the bet) that there would be delays, its such a huge ambitious project that it was always going to be the case, people love to use the original plan as a base to moan but they are unrealistic in my opinion.

Ultimately when we are in the stadium all this stuff will be forgotten, people loved to react OTT to Lloris and drinking, strip him of his captaincy and all that, no people don't even mention it.

Feel like it will be next season now. That update is hardly a commitment, still lots of unknowns.
Not a very encouraging statement at all is it, no dates for test events, no timeline, basically the same statement that was released back in Dec saying Jan was a no go!

Expecting that there will now be increasing pressure on the Premier League for us to play the rest of the season at Wembley now. Warnock is probably just the start and expect the media to be regularly asking other managers at press conferences about moving into NWHL so late in the season.

It was you wasn't it that said there was no way we'd open for Liverpool, right?
I have to say looking at the ground last summer it looked like pie-in-the-sky myself too. Ah well...

Think it’s fair enough to be honest.

Just announce Wembley for rest of season and move on.

Might help improve atmosphere if all the season ticket holders knew that we’re staying at Wembley for rest of season, as most I know are getting refunds for almost every game and we couldn’t even sell out the restricted capacity of 51K last night; only 44K attendees for a semi-final.

I don't think that's possible. Wembley have clashes with quite a few of our spring fixtures

Yeh my mate was doing some interior design work there at the time and he said there was no way it was opening, the public areas were not safe for mass eventing including the external walkways and stairs etc, basically was still a building site.

Oh well, onwards.

If the club had said March 19 at the beginning of the season they probably would have lost some of the goodwill that came with ‘just one more game or one more month’ at the time. They aren’t even saying March 2019.

The stadium is a positive move, for the long term and the only way we can compete without being financially doped. I remain tinkled off about the late delivery as I would with any project that affects me, ie it’s taken almost half the time again to deliver.

I’ve deleted about 3 orher paragraphs to this response as I am going on a rant and I need to breathe!

I still think Lloris should have been stripped of the captaincy btw, just no point labouring the point.

Will Dortmund be full capacity? I didn't see any information about it in the statement. Just trying to figure out how likely I am to get tickets as a One Hotspur+ member.

I skipped last night due to my semi final record at Wembley but it came across well atmosphere wise. I think that’s because it was a night game and the derby and I predict the next few games will continue to decline. If we end up staying at Wembley the end of the season will pick up when the games have meaning and the weather is better but there are some season ticket holders I’ve not seen since the refund option kicked in.

We need to make two signings in this window now,one to make up for the stadium delay and one because , well because I want us to sign a player.

The ticketing announcement for the 3 PL games specifically states the capacity to be 51K, but as you say there is no mention of capacity in the Dortmund ticket details. From a quick google it seems we can make an application to Brent Council for the capacity to be increased. From a BBC article : "A planning application to Brent Council is required to increase the capacity to 62,000 with "additional limited exceptions" at 90,000." So maybe that is what we will be doing.

Even at 51k capacity, I'd say you've got a good chance as a + member, if you can get onto the wheel of death early enough in your window.
