Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

Is that not a rehash of the Sun story, which was in turn rehashed by the daily Heil?

Dan Kilpatrick, spurs fan, covering Spurs for the evening standard, should have a few decent connections at the club, but who knows.

Eat, drink and be merry at the new White Hart Lane

Tottenham Hotspur fans who took part in the first familiarisation event at the club’s new stadium in December were wowed by the way the beer was served from bottom to top.

Spurs have partnered with Bottoms Up Beer, so that a pint can be served hands free with magnets placed at the bottom of special plastic cups that fill from the bottom and automatically stop at the brim.

But once the novelty of the new system – which claims to serve 69 pints in one minute – has worn off, supporters will be even more pleased with the prices inside Tottenham’s new home.

A pint will cost fans £4, which is cheap by London prices. It can be hard to find a pub serving beer for anything less than £5, so Spurs hope that fans will choose to drink inside the new stadium, rather than flooding in late from the local pubs and bars.

It is not just the drinks that are competitively priced, as pies have been priced as low as £3.50, cheaper than most rival grounds in the capital.

Other than that traditional fare, Tottenham fans will also be able to buy fish and chips, gourmet burgers, pizza and Chinese food inside the new stadium.

Spurs are yet to confirm when they will move to the new White Hart Lane, but have stated a commitment to eliminate the use of plastic straws, stirrers, cutlery and all disposable packing which usually accompanies such items.

With the club now putting the finishing touches to the new stadium, some fans at the familiarisation event noticed that there would not be enough space for players to be able to take a corner due to the slope at the side of the pitch.

But Tottenham have addressed the issue and re-sized the dimensions around the pitch to allow players more room to be able to take corner kicks

Lmao...did a GGer write those bottom two paragraphs for banter?

...because otherwise it shows all of the slope chat was completely justified?

Genuinely from this email I signed up for...I’ve yet to see it mentioned anywhere else yet but I had a feeling you would want to see it...

Spurs fan?! I thought he was a wind up artist. In his reports for ESPN, it's hard to imagine a wimpier defender of Spurs. Always diving down the well with the most negative aspects you could think of on any Spurs story he was reporting on.

On major media outlets, I don't expect pom-poms. But a balanced perspective would be nice. Never heard it from him.

Standard saying we will be at Wembley until at least end Feb
Palace possible 1st game now

FFS !!

If that's the case, what's one more month?

I certainly hope it's early Feb, but in the grand scheme it's not that big a deal... As soon as possible is good enough for me.

I always read his stuff the same way, especially his tweets. He’s either an incredibly jaded Spurs fan (believable tbf...) or on a wind up.

Yeah, I agree, he comes across as a bit of a negative nonce with his articles. He's been on the fighting rooster a few times though, clearly a fan, and has a lot of positive things to say about poch and the club.

He used to co-host the Tottenham Way podcast, until he left ESPN and moved to the Standard. I remember him discussing how his enjoyment of games had changed enormously once he started having to attend as a journalist rather than a fan. Another Spurs-fan journo (Greg Stobart maybe) said much the same.
Perhaps it's the need to remain objective that makes him go too much in the other direction sometimes.
