Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - Licence To Stand

I watched the highlights of the game on iPlayer. Nice to see the stadium in the other setting with the lower pitch. Good thing about the highlights is you can FF them :)

I wonder how the food and beverage takings are? With all the stops in play, must be ideal for getting a beer...
It was £6.80 for a pint of Budweiser at the weekend.

Ever tried explaining a test match to an American? It's a lot of fun.

It's simple enough.

You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out.
When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have been out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game

And then explain that after five days it's often a draw, minds blown.

Prepare to be bored. Live NFL is actually incredibly tedious. You get 5 secs of action and then a long stoppage of up to 3 or 4 minutes at its worse with all the talk and huddle on the sides before another 5 secs of action. Rinse and repeat.

Could not agree more, a 60 minute game which takes 3 hours to play. Boring as brick.

You probably just don't know enough about what is going on, like a n00b watching football and screaming for goals; they don't appreciate that our right back is pushing forwards to draw their left sided midfielder deeper to allow our centre midfield to get space blah blah blah...
Whenever I watch hand-egg it just looks like a load of meat heads smashing into each other, but I'm sure a true fan would see all sorts of minutiae and tweaks to the line up and match ups and blah blah blah

Went on Sunday, beer queues a bit slow/long. Biggest problem is they never pre pour any beer. At Wembley for example they use to have that 16/20 pint tray that would get poured at the same time and have beer waiting.
When I’ve been to Twickenham pretty sure they have beer poured same at Surrey cricket for the busy T20 matches.

They pour quick at Tottenham but it could be because it was tinkle beer rather than half decent stuff

Ice hockey is Canadian, which probably explains why it's watchable. It has offsides, it's action packed and has a natural flow. Baseball and handegg is tedious and drawn out, while basketball is just goals all the time. It's only really interesting for the last few minutes.
Hockey was invented in Montreal by British soldiers. So whilst it's birthplace is Canada you can see the sports roots are British. I like hockey a lot but it's still too bloody hard to see the puck go in.

I'm a lover of American football. Been into it from the 80's. It amazes me when people moan about the lack of action but can watch 1 day cricket or test cricket. They have way longer gaps.

American football is like chess, mixed with tactical matchups, mixed with wrestling. I love the matchups And the physicality of it all. Sadly though my NFL team is like Spurs. They haven't won the big one since the 60's.

I now have the honor of watching three things I support lose in my stadium. Spurs, AJ, now the Jets. Just need Saracens to come and lose as well to pile on.

I'm a Cowboys fan, there has been a lot there too, although I did see 3 SB wins when I was a kid, and a few years ago I saw Romo win at Wembley.
