Tottenham Hotspur FC v Swansea City AFC OMT

This will be a tough game especially with the demanding midweek game for us. A draw will be a decent result.

I hope we will get a win though. Eriksen and Kane need to step up.

Play the best team and we will win this. I fancy both teams to nullify each others hard work, but we have that extra spark at the moment in lamela, and also Kane hungry for goals.

Swansea are a great side and think this'll be our toughest game against them. We struggled last season against them. I still remember Davies' phenomenal performance, a Ledley King-esque tackle on Bony and a 90th minute assist for Eriksens winner. More of the same tomorrow please.

For now, until he sees more of the Prem, Clinton is an excellent option off the bench to stretch the game and get in behind tiring lines, etc. I would play Lamela in the hole if Eriksen doesn't play, although his work-rate does mean that when playing wider, his coverage is great. If Eriksen does play, then as-is...

Based purely on this season I would start Clinton ahead of Eriksen tomorrow

i think id rather have clinton over chadli.

like Ive said before. eriksen and chadli are both players who have shown in the past they can contribute literally NOTHING other than scoring the odd goal here and there. but I think Eriksen offers a little bit more in his defensive contributions (despite being the biggest pussy in years), and feel he is more creative of the two.

Three points for us and for Man Utd would see us sitting in third going into the break, so I suppose we can guess what that means. We tend to choke given these sorts of opportunities. Have to go for it with a full-strength side, though. I'll say we squeak a 2-1 win.
If ManU draw with the Goons then we'll still have the chance to go third with a win but we'll also be within 3pts of Emirates Marketing Project... So then all we have to do is beat Swansea and the Scousers by an aggregate of 9 goals to see Spurs go top of the league!!

Is there any U.S. TV Stations showing this game?
Unfortunately no. NBC Sports Network usually does, but they'll be showing the CrapU-Scum game which is at the same time. Only option is to watch on NBC SN Live Extra on the web or a mobile device. But check USA Network too. Sometimes they have a concurrent match on.

This is the games to rest some of our stalwarts - Kane, Dier and Alder in particular.

That side would get beaten tomm

Is it not also on DirecTV?

I thought Dier and Kane looked very leggy midweek but that's hardly surprising really.

We are always at out most vulnerable after a big win in the league. After the brilliant 4-1 win over ManCity last week, it is going to be interesting which Spurs team turns up for this match. Last season, our form in the league has always been on a 3 match run, winless or winning run followed by each other. And this season, we were on a 3 match winless run before and now we are on a 3 match winnng run. Hope we will change our mentality and luck to win our 4th consecutive match for a change ! We have a great record against Swansea, winning our last 7 matches against them. So, there is no reason whatsoever why we cannot win this match !

We did well to draw 1-1 with Monaco in the EL. Traditionally, we always face problems in the league after playing in Europe. So, can see this being a tough match for us. Hope we will make use of all the chances we get. Kane did well to score his first goal of the season against ManCity. But somehow he is still not as sharp as last season in front of goal. He wasted a good chance to score against Monaco as well. It will do no harm to his form and luck if he can score in this match. Lamela has been in great form recently, scoring 3 goals and assisting 2 in his last 5 matches. He looks like scoring goals in all his matches nowadays. Hope he will keep up that form and get a goal or two in this match. Frankly, Pochettino should tell Lamela that he can be as good as Aguero who scored 5 goals against Saudi Sportswashing Machine yesterday. He only needs to perform consistently as he has good overall skills. Too bad Son is out injured as he was improving our attack greatly since joining us.

Our midfield of Dier and Alli have done very well in recent matches. I think they should continue their partnership as long as we are winning. Maybe, Dembele, if he is fit, can come on to replace Alli later in the matches. But disappointingly Eriksen and Chadli are still struggling to get back their best form. Eriksen did well to take that great free kick against ManCity which Kane scored from. But other than that, he has not been in good form since the League Cup semi final against Sheffied Utd last season. Similiarly, Chadli has been very inconsistent this season. He did well to score against Stoke but has wasted many goal scoring chances since then. Hope both Eriksen and Chadli will get back their best form in this match. Njie did well to set up the goal for Lamela against ManCity. Maybe he can come on later in the match to show what he can do again.

Our defence have done well so far this season. In fact, we have the joint-best defensive record in the league with ManU. Hope Vertonghen, Alderweireld will keep up the good work. Ofcourse, we will need Lloris to be at his best as well. Lloris could have done better with Monaco's goal. But other than that, he has been in great form this season. We have done well to keep 3 consecutive clean sheets before playing ManCity last week. Will be disappointed if we don't stop Swansea scoring in this match, especially our former player Sigurdsson. We should avoid giving away any free kicks near our goal as Sigurdsson are capable of scoring from those.

If all other results go our way, we can go 3rd in league if we win this match. So, hope we will turn up with the positive mentality and win this match !

They can rest, relatively, in the fudging week break from league football they're about to get.

Any team news yet ?

Want us to play the same team that started against ManCity, with Chadli replacing the injured Son. Hope we will put up a good performance and get a comfortable win.

I know the starting eleven gets announced 60 minutes before a game, but is there a requirement to announce the squad? If so when does this happen and what's the best source of notification?

Well there's this on the OS

There is good news on Mousa Dembele ahead of Sunday’s trip to Swansea City in the Premier League.

The midfielder has made good progress in his recovery from a foot injury and is in contention for a place in the squad at the Liberty Stadium.

Mousa was last in action in the goalless home draw with Everton back on August 29.

Meanwhile, Danny Rose looks set to miss the Swansea match with a hand injury sustained in Thursday’s night’s 1-1 draw with Monaco in the Europa League.

Ryan Mason (knee), Nabil Bentaleb (ankle), Alex Pritchard (ankle) and Heung-Min Son (foot) remain sidelined.

It's our seventh match in 21 days between international breaks having travelled to France this week to take on Monaco in the Europa League on Thursday night.

The players are determined to maintain a run of six matches unbeaten in the Premier League and three wins on the trot - and confidence is high after last weekend's 4-1 win against Emirates Marketing Project.

"First of all we need to recover after City and Monaco and be ready to compete," said Mauricio. "It's another tough game, Swansea have had all week to prepare but we have full confidence we can go there and win."

Talking about the squad's preparation, Mauricio added: "It’s not only physical, it’s mental too because we’ve had a lot of big games. It’s not easy, we’re young and we need to learn how to manage ourselves mentally and physically but this is our job, the staff need to prepare the players to arrive in the best condition.

"Swansea is not an easy team to play because they put you in a difficult situation, you need to run a lot but in the same way, we can press high and we believe in our way."

Won 7 games in a row against them. Its because they are a team that never sits back against us. They come out and try to pass it and play the game in the right way. Its all about the counter attack for us today.
